Your quote is one I always knew inside...but never have seen it in the written word! It is spot on!
Today is my Chihuahua Chico's sixth birthday! We have had him for over 4 years now. He was a rescue. We are his 4th owners...when we got him...he was under 2 years old and already had 3 previous owners. Can you imagine??? He is smart, social and a very happy dog after all that.

Today off to the vet with Chico this morning. He is having a dental cleaning and one small loose tooth removed. I don't know which one of us will be the basket case! Probably me! LOL
Enjoy this awesome day!

I will be thinking of you and Chico Patti, fur babies as with toddlers we have to hope they know medical procedures are being done in love. Zoey has one I have been watching, her early experience with hospital time was traumatic, the only one who can get near her mouth or her back area is her groomer who is also a close friend with the Animal Sanctuary. I hear dental costs here for pets are extremely expensive, curious as to what they are in B.C. Wishing good luck with the appointment.
Never know what a day holds, Monday was one of them, while in the city a tiny old lady came within inches of sandwiching me between her big van and my trunk. Had just put a package in the trunk when suddenly daughter grabbed me pulling me to the side, hugging the SUV in fear of falling face down on the pavement heard a man say "She almost got you" had me realize that was the least of my concerns. Unreal, Cathy said she didn't think she was going to stop, luckily she decided she had enough room to go forward as doubt she even knew she was within inches of sandwiching me in between her van and my SUV. No surprise the sudden movement saw yesterday as a heating pad day! Have to say someone up there has to be watching over me! How well I know today is a gift!

OMW Gerry! You must have been very scared! Luckily Cathy was at your rescue. Scary stuff!!! On a bright side...you had a date with your heating pad and no outside work! Hope you are not feeling any repercussions today!!! And if you do...please take another day to recoup.
Yesterday was the weirdest day I have ever had in my whole life! It started on the trip to town with a beep in my vehicle and I looked down at the dash to see a flashing light which said...O/D off (overdrive off). This has never happened before. Then when I got out of the vehicle and alarmed it...it double beeped which is odd. Got Chico into the vet and went to the park to spend some time while waiting. When I was ready to leave...I felt really dizzy (I was sitting). This lasted for hours. Chico whined all the way home. He was not a happy camper after the tooth removal and dental cleaning. Finally got home and started up my new computer (still dizzy btw)...only to find it had reset itself to factory. ERG! So managed to get the internet and did my thing. When I was ready to shut it down...it said it needed updating. So ok...did that and hit the update/shut down key. But it did not shut down...what it did was it "fixed"? what was wrong...and everything was back in place as normal. Go figure!! The dizziness went away shortly after that. Don't want another day like that again! So I sat and spun to shake off the day! And that worked beauteously! And here is a quote to mirror that:
“Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle.”
― Ben Franklin

So sorry you were experiencing dizzy times Patti especially with being away and having the vet appointment, hope you are feeling well today. Just not like you, has me concerned. (you have mail)
Was already sleep deprived, didn't need the extra wrenching on the back. Have to agree with the doctors that have said if pain wakes you, you know you have a problem! Be assured being within inches of being hit by a van I am more than happy just to be here slowed down or not!
Thought it wise to stay in this morning, plus is kitchen tidied, fridge cleaned and have eggs cooling on ice to make a couple jars of pickled eggs. Hopefully back eases enough to head to my Happy Place.
Will allow no darkness, candles at the ready and step by step!

You are right Gerry...not like me...I don't know who I was but don't want to know her. LOLOLOL
So happy to hear Gerry that you have taken the time you need to get over the near miss! And I also know that when you can not be in your happy place physically...you are mentally. lol Right?!!! And sometimes that is enough. And your quote from yesterday says it all!

Hope you are feeling a wee bit better today!

We have so much smoke from forest fires here these days. The sun is really red and the smoke in the air is orange. You can smell the smoke...so we stay in as much as possible. And the lady I look after has COPD and can not open windows or go outside.

Tried checking B.C. fires, not being familiar with the area I am guessing you are getting one lot of heavy smoke Patti, we have had red alerts for days seemed to clear off a bit yesterday afternoon. We are getting smoke from both B.C and Alberta as well as northern Saskatchewan. I have no idea how anyone close to the fires can manage. Morning temps barely over 50 F, this morning 9 Celsius and that is only 48 Fahrenheit. Also downright chilly early in the evenings, need some July weather!
Take care everyone.

Our morning weather here too is substantially cooler and the afternoons can get quite hot. The birds are enjoying my sour cherries from the tree in the front yard. Especially during fire season...I do recognize the delicate precious nature of each day! And give thanks everyday!!!
Hope you are doing well Gerry! And that your appointment on the 20th will give you the strength, courage and grace to face whatever the outcome! Prayers continuing!

No smoke alert today but think to all who are contending with the fires. Again another chilly morning, at eight it was only 53 F, yesterday another nasty windy chilly day, warmed a bit by four which saw me out til after 8:00. Managed to water and dead head all the garage plants as well as all the potted flowers and vegetables. Gardening has become a challenge, it's supposed to be fun! Have lovely garlic scrapes to cut today! Garlic Pesto?
A good gentle rain would work wonders! Trying to get the weeds under control and somehow eventually get all the lovely potted perennials permanently placed. Meanwhile keep them watered. I am hoping my Japanese Hori knife works as digging not a go right now.
Thank you for your prayers Patti, I suspect Thursday will not be an easy day, not knowing what to expect has me preparing to do as always, hope for the best and accept the outcome. Knowing Cathy will be with me is reassuring. Meanwhile time in my Happy Place!
