We had enough for 50 even giving them double dibs and only had seven come to the door - very disappointing - I love seeing the little goblins

Ohmy gosh Kitt what a horde!

I was surprised! Last year, I only had about 6, but tonight I had at least 40! They were all families with adorable little kid, s too...........and not roaming bands of teenagers who just show up with no costumes just to get stuff. It was a GOOD Halloween night!

ALSO, it was a beautiful day / night here in Dallas. The weather was perfect. I grew up in the Northeast, and it seemed like it was always raining or cold, and we had to wear ugly coats over our cute costumes! I LOVE Texas!

My dog is very excited and keeps whimpering by the door hoping more kids will show up. I have to admit it makes me sad when not many kids show up. I have a ton of candy - and I bought all good chocolate stuff. When I used to trick or treat, we'd always ask where the houses were that handed out real chocolate and make sure to stop there. So I always make sure I have stuff I would have wanted as a kid.
Heather, I did that too, till I moved to the boonies. I used to make up bags with 5 or 6 pieces of candy and hand those out.
Next year maybe I will make up 20 bags or something, just buy individual candy bars or a few pieces for each bag like that. I had two huge bags full of assorted chocolate bars that i now need to use up or give away. Not one single kid showed up after that first round. I like seeing the cute costumes and making the little kids smile.

I love being out with our kids on Halloween night!!! My Mom comes over to our house and hands out the treats...we had around 200 kids come to our house! The weather was supposed to be a little sketchy, they were calling for rain showers - we got very lucky and had beautiful weather! It was a great night, my Dh and the kids poop out before I do!

We had around 200 this year so not as many as last year. I buy 2 Costco sized bags of candy each year with 150 pieces of candy in each. I hand out 1 piece to every trick or treater. With what is leftover plus my kids' haul I will be baking lots of brownies and cookies with candy bars. Then I stash it away when I can't look at it anymore and we bring it out during movie marathons (or I stash in my purse for the theatre).

I remember when my oldest nephew was about 3, I took him trick or treating to help my pregnant sister out. She told me that he could keep going to apartments until he forgot to say "Thank you!!". Around the 4th apartment, he forgot to say it. I asked him, hoping is memory would return. "Honey, would do you say?" His answer was "I want more." I said "Honey, what's the magic word?" His answer was "I want more NOW!!" I had to try not to laugh as I brought him back home.

We're completley seperated...10 miles to the closest town. wooooooo hoooooooo I almost feel like I live in the big city.  We have a market, two gas stations, a couple of fast food places, a bar, a health food store, a chain drugstore and a few other businesses but the people all like outside town. It's 18 miles to the closest REAL town.

  Here's our community store/gas station (Robby's cousin owns it). Across the street is a church, the other side, a cemetary. That's the center of town.
