I refuse to spend a fortune on clothes, I like to live. Today I am wearing -

GAP Long & Lean jeans that cost $75 on sale a few years ago and are PERFECT now, frayed at the hem, nicely worn.

$40 leopard print top from Macy's, $40 Reef flip flops.

This is how we housewives roll.

the hair appt? how did it go? it happened right?
It turned out awesome, although not as highlighted as we had planned. It's kind of a soft gold, I guess? I'll try to get Dave to take a pic sometime over the weekend.

Girl, that tequila is doing wonders for your memory.

I love the way you gals roll. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who found $1,100 to $1,500 outrageous for a work outfit.

I not only think it's outrageous, I think it's not happening unless you're making a small fortune. I mean, who does that unless you were just super rich? Were they counting shoes and bags as part of the outfit? Now, that I could see...a Louis Vuitton will set you back that much, but I'm not sportin' one of those these days either.

Some outfits did count the shoes and handbags, some didn't. None of the outfits were "power broker" outfits. They all looked like "assistant" clothing. I don't know where "assistants" are getting paid enough to dress like the article showed but maybe I need to move there!

Totally outrageous. I'm a sales gal.

Me too, KC! When I had to wear "professional" clothes I had a personal shopper at Nordstroms. She knew me so well. She knew I never paid full price for an item and never pushed me to pay full price. When something went on sale that she thought I would like, she'd call. I would tell her when I would be there and she would have a dressing room full of marked down items for me. That darling gal saved me tons of time AND money. I might have spent $1,000 a trip but it sure wasn't on ONE outfit!

The best she ever did was a Tadashi evening gown marked half off and then half off of that price. The skirt was lace and someone had stepped on it, tearing the lace at the bottom of the hem. Didn't matter to me, even in heels the dress was four inches too long. She called the seamstress to mark the hem and then arranged to have it hemmed and pressed free. A $600 evening gown for $150 and free alterations made my day!
