 I used to decorate my tree exactly like this. HOWEVER I did it all in one day. It's an easy way to put lots of lights on an artificial tree. Now my tree is prelit. woooooooo hoooooooooooo I HATE putting lights on a tree.
racrgal, I hate putting the light on the tree too!! HATED IT...So if I were to put up a tree this year, it better be prelit too..

I finally have some time to catch up on Zazz. This is such a fun thread! Felix, the Saga of the Tree is hilarious...
I'm heading to South Carolina for Christmas weekend, so I decided not to put up a tree this year. I love them, but work has been crazy lately so that's one thing I can cross off my list. I have a collection of skinny Santas that I'll put out, and a few other decorations, but I'm just not in the mood this year to deal with a tree.
I'm going to concentrate on baking goodies to take to the family, and for my clients here.
Haven't even begun to shop, but it will get done... it always does!

It's just the two of us here in the middle of the woods and no one sees the lights anyway. ;) We thought we'd travel..and we still will, just not as far as we had planned. Such is life. I'm just happy we can still afford a 2 day getaway. We'll be staying in a spa room here...http://www.arlingtonhotel.com/about.htm
It'll be a festive holiday with no work on my part. :D
Deely, that hotel is so cool! I know ya'll will have a wonderful "getaway" !!

Great thread!!!

I have everything pretty much under control. I sent my Christmas cards out yesterday (a bit early, I know but...hey....I'm on a roll  ). I have most of the presents bought except for a couple and plan to start wrapping this weekend.

The house is decorated. I'm still debating whether to bake or not this year.

I usually get things done early for Christmas because then I can relax and enjoy the real reason for Christmas.

lol Felix! I love it! and then I kept reading through and saw that 2nd pic . Although I read the story I kept thinking "It grew! "

CL congrats to you and your granddaughter, can't get a gift any better than that! Candy huh? You can do Kitten's Cracker Candy *drools* It's super easy and super delish. For fudge I was thinking of trying Bea's Toblerone Fudge. Brigadeiro also crossed my mind. Haven't made it before but recipes I've found for it looks super simple.

Well I finally started on some Christmas baking yesterday evening. I made a Trinidad Black Cake - 8" round. Half is going to my mum, 1/4 for my grandparents, 1/8 for my boyfriend cause he says I make my black cake too strong tasting for his liking (it uses cherry brandy and dark rum) but I told him this time I soaked the fruit mixture for 1 week instead of 2 so he told me he'd try a piece. The remaining 1/8 is for myself cause my dad doesn't want any this year and I have so much other goodies I want to do that I don't really want much cake hanging around - although with black cake - as long as it is stored properly it won't spoil but just get better with age. I've known people who had black cake aged up to 1 year before eating it and they say it is the best. The longest I ever left mine was about a month

Felix, so funny. You do realize that I am going to tell? Still waiting for e-mail from you on the location recommended. I see that you are having Christmas dinner on the 18th so that is the date I would like to go for.

Roxanne, LOL. Had to go back & look at the pictures. You are correct the tree has grown. There is another layer on it.

Felix, looking forward to the next photo.
