He'll make a nice addition, lol.

Seriously, I do love the birds; I have 2 bird feeders, and enjoy them. I have doves, finches, cardinals, blue jays; and may others. Love seeing them. Since I am on a lake, I get all the ducks up 1' from my door eating the seed. They are so cute. But, the birds are cool.

Congrats on the new backyard improvements. I bet they look great.
   Luckily my red headed woodpecker hasn't found our gutters yet. In fact he doesn't stick around long enough to even get a photo. Awww, ducks that's so cool. I love watching the wildlife too!
Thanks Kc here's a pic.

You must be so excited ellie! It sounds like you'll have a beautiful space to sew and enjoy the day. I'd love to hear more about it, if you don't mind sharing. I'm like you...come on warm weather! :)
I'll see if I can upload a photo. We always had a covered patio and always wanted to enclose part of it for another room. We enclosed an area that was about 15 x 15 - which opens (with patio doors) to a small patio. The patio has a grill and a place to just sit and take in the beautiful sunshine. As I live in NM we have a fairly long period where we can enjoy the sunshine - but it also gets hot in the middle of the summer, but we had shade trees in our yard.
The sunroom/enclosed porch will have a wall bed and a cabinet for sewing things. I do a lot of needlework, so need a lot of light - which was also put in along with outlets.

Oooh, I love a well planned out space! I hope you can get a photo posted. What colors did you choose?

That looks so inviting Deely.
A few years ago when I lived up on Black road in my log house we would hammer slabs of fat(in the Winter) on a couple of the cedar trees and one year we had 3 Piliated woodpeckers (red heads). I even got a short video of the three of them chasing each other running up the tree. Up there we saw so much wild life - bears, of course little chipmunks & squirrles, migrating birds, coyotes & even a moose. It was wonderful to sit out on the porch in the early morning with a cup of coffee and just enjoy all the wildlife and smell that clean fragrent air

I know what you mean Bergy. We had a lot of wildlife, including a pair of Piliated woodpeckers in the woods, aren't they awesome? I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience that type of beauty. The first thing we did when we moved, is put up feeders to draw in the critters.

What's everyone been up to?
Finally the weather has turned sunny and warm! I've been chomping at the bit to get the patio set up. I stripped the table stools and painted them to match our new patio décor, over the winter and I was excited to see how they looked. I still have to power wash the concrete, rearrange the wall art (I just hung things where there were hangers) and strip and repaint the French doors. I'm really happy with our new outdoor space. :)

Deely, it looks great. I know you will love it. You could even put a fire pit out there; which would be cool.

If you have an issue with mosquitos or bugs; there are some awesome electric lamps which are decorative; and work up to 200 ft. so, they really work well. My friend just bought a couple.

I bet that will be an awesome space for you. And, yes, perfect by the pool; and for the doggie. You will love that. So nice during the spring and summer!!

Something to think about; they make a non skid paint that is nice for on a lanai; especially after you get out of the pool. It can be any color; but, a nice non skid finish. Easy to put down; NOT anything fancy; but, just adds a nice finish to concrete. It is something me and my friend just did to my his house. He also put down some outdoor rugs. Every he got out of the pool, he was slipping and sliding; so, this is what they did to help.

You are gonna spend tons and tons of time out there!! You did a great job.

I was hoping you'd check in with some of your great ideas Kc! I'd love more info on the concrete paint and if you have a link to the electric bug lights, I'd like to take a look at those too.
It's a work in progress and you're right, we're already spending a lot of time out there.
