Basically, the spoon breaks the bubbles that touch it and the whole things collapses like a punctured balloon. A finger touch to the foam that is about to go over the top of a glass of cola will also break up the bubbles, only not as effectively. Better to just pour the cola more slowly.

Thx Mary.

My Tip Today ... pesto. Make pesto and freeze as ice cubes. Especially your basil goes wild like mine, simply freeze, thaw and ready to use.

Pesto mixed with mayo or hummus makes a fantastic sandwich spread, or with burgers, grilled chicken, or portabello burgers

Another Tip ...
Sliced Tomatoes

Nothing special here, but it is helpful.
If taking tomatoes to a party, BBQ, etc; or, you just want to slice them up ahead of time. Slice them and but keep them together. When you pull them apart and lay them flat, they dry out. It you just slice the tomato, but not separate the slices, it stays moist. Then, wrap in parchment paper to hold it together. They will be moist and perfect slices; ready to use when you need them. Can be done a day in advance.

Best tip ever, KC. I always want to prep ahead when I can, but tomatoes just won't cooperate. Now, I can. Thanks.

I go through a lot of lemons at my house especially in summer with iced tea. I don't use sugar but I do go through the lemons- and to help keep the disposal fresh I toss the spent lemons as well as the end tips into the disposal, but don't run it right away. The lemon smell deodorizes it as it sits. Water running past runs the lemon juice over it and then finally down into it when you run it. Just don't let the lemon sit in there for days. LOL

Nice tip Sue ... definitely a great idea.

Also, on that same note. If you juice a lemon for a recipe ... don't throw that lemon out. You can add it to the sauce, stock or broth.

When roasting a chicken, throw that lemon in there you squeezed for ice tea that day. The lemon will give the chicken a great flavor. Or throw it in a white wine sauce over fish. And, if frying fish, add those leftover lemons, they will add tons of flavor as the fish cooks.

Another Tip!

Chipitoles in Adobo. LOVE the stuff. But sometimes, ONE (1) can is too much.

So, puree the entire can, or mash it up with a fork. FREEZE in ice cube trays. I add 1 tablespoon per cube and freeze, then add to a baggie. Instant chipotle in adobo without wasting anything. Just remove a cube and it is approximately equal to 1-1/2 chipotles chopped. Takes just a minute, a works great.

They last months in the freezer. And, after you thaw them, they still will last a good couple of weeks in the fridge.
