But, they are great to pre cook for the grill, especially if grilling wedges or slices.
I do make http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/microw ... auliflower, which I love. But, it can be made on the stove too. It's just so easy.
I also love corn on the cob in husks. Perfect when you don't want to use the grill. Grill is my first choice. Microwave is my second.
These are fun and easy. Different that a soft scramble, but just as good for something quick. http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/coffee ... waved-eggs
This is a favorite http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/10-min ... d-potatoes

I also make a hard candy in the microwave; and a pudding. But no recipes.
And of course ... a few dips, like the rotel dip. I make a warm spinach dip, a sausage cheese dip, even a warm corned beef dip. They really work great in the microwave. NO need for the oven - they just come out the same.
---------------------------
I really can't say I have ever had a main course I like in the microwave. When my kitchen was re-done, my microwave was on the lanai which is where I cooked for almost 2 weeks. I cooked mac and cheese, chicken, salmon, shrimp, rice, etc. Did I like it ... Not enough to make again. But, I think it can be done; and it can be quite good.
But the above recipes I like and cook only in the microwave.

While I have made desserts in the microwave when my oven went out, I can't say they were as good as baked. No browning.

I look at it this way: Oven at 350F for at least an hour vs. microwave for 6-8 minutes. My time is money, and my money is money. I save both of those things.
Now, if I'm also making something in the oven, I'll put potatoes in. But there is no way I'm going to waste that much electricity simply to bake a potato or two.

And just for one spud for me ... microwave and I'll live without the crispy skin.
But for a party ... definitely a oven baked spud.

I do that to I pre cook in the microwave and then throw on the grill, it sure cuts down cooking time and when i don't feel like waiting an hour for oven baked I'll throw a few in the microwave

Ever cook a spaghetti squash in the micro. JUST poke a few times, nuke and it is done. It cuts in half easily, scoop out the seeds, and then, put on the grill or in the oven to dry a bit and get a little flavor. Ten minutes vs 40, then 10 on the grill or oven to dry ... if you want.
