Hah! I see that traffic really is never-ending! It is just as bad alll the way up here on the same road ;)As said, heck ... I probably have a better chance of dying driving down US 41 during 5pm traffic than I do eating years of cool whip, LOL.

I didn't know they still made Dream Whip! I liked that stuff!HeatherFeather wrote:I like Cool Whip - it is not like I eat it every day anyway. When a recipe calls for a lot, then I will use it or I'll whip up some real cream, if I feel like it.
I actually use Dream Whip more often now, as my bf prefers it - and you can customize it. (Dream Whip is a powdered version - you add milk and vanilla extract and beat it for 4 minutes, then chill - the taste is more like the inside of a melted roasted marshmallow to me, delicious). The Dream can be made with any type of milk, so you can adjust it to suit your fat needs. I like that there is real milk in there.

Yep, it is in most of the regular grocery stores around here, and in Walmart. I usually find a small box of it near the Jell-O area or near cake mixes/frosting.Chocolatl wrote:I didn't know they still made Dream Whip! Re: Cool Whip
I recently learned of a way to stabilize whipped cream that works very well and doesn't change the flavour/texture much.
To each cup of whipping cream add 1 tablespoon of instant vanilla pudding powder and whatever sugar and vanilla (or other flavoring) that you usually use. I use this to top a Skor bar "poke" cake and it keeps for several days (we eat it pretty fast so I'm not sure how long is too long). I use 2 cups whipping cream for a 9x13 cake.
