I know Sat in the ER, especially spring break time down here. When I called to see if my 2 doc friends were working they said the wait was 3-4 hours. I would never last. If I wait more than 30 minutes, I would leave ... I know, that is just me. I'm better off going tomorrow am when I know it won't be busy. I will baby it today. Just to the refrig and bathrooms and back. And I am using one of Dad's antique canes and my office chair on the tile from the bedroom to the fridge. I can scoot right along and no walking. Can feed the cats too that way.

Perhaps you could go to a walk-in clinic? There seem to be loads of them around here. The ER might be especially awful for you because your issue is going to likely get pushed lower on the list if there are people in there with more critical concerns. Not that yours is trivial at all, but you know how it goes in the ER with the mixed bag of patients and how they have to take people in order of most severe issues first.

Kim, please go early today? The Saturday night confusion won't happen until tonight, and you'll be in and out before the idiots-skateboarding-on-a-wet-driveway after dark start arriving.
Edit:
I left the computer mid-post and came back to three more replies. You reminded me that Spring Breakers are in town, and I absolutely understand why you want to avoid the ER on a Saturday.

I called the ER Mary, just to see ... a 4hr wait. Now you understand why I want Sun am? This time of year is chaos. 2 hr waits at restaurants, can't even park at the beach unless you get there before 9am. Working out on the island, it would take me over 1 1/2 hrs to get home which takes me 20 minutes top during NON season. Last week I had to visit on friend up on one of the keys, I knew it would take a while, but they were only down for 5 days. It took me 2:15 to get there which is only 41 miles; and normally takes me about 50 minutes; and that is only because it is slower roads on the beach for traffic control.
So this time of year is absolute nuts down here. For about 1 month, we avoid most common restaurants popular ones, beach restaurants, hot spots, clubs, or places to visit and most of all ... the beach!

And although it's never a good time to visit the ER, you should avoid it during Spring Break for sure!
I know you must miss your long walks on the beach too.

Yes I do Mary, Sat am I always go after the market. No market, No walk.
I am so flippin bored I can't stand it! I've been inside all day. YUCK! Actually the foot feels good until I stand on it. But better than this am and better than yesterday; and even my back isn't too bad right now.
Getting hungry, so was looking forward to my neighbor cooking; but they decided not too. So a Reuben tonight ... I think I can handle that ... Roll into the kitchen in my chair and make the corned beef and roll back to my bed. Have it set up to work on the computer and close to the bathroom and the cats ... My kitties have been laying by my side since the accident.
Who says cats don't have a heart; not quite the same as dogs; but they no something is wrong and they have been so sweet.

Thought I'd check in on you Kc and let you know you've been on my mind. I can just imagine how hard it is for you to be laid up...you're such an active person. Hopefully you'll get good news tomorrow.
Or I should say "FOOT"!

Need I say more. Geeze, Sat TV is ... I have a few words, but probably best not to say. OMG, I hate this. Oh well, make the best right?
Been working on my cook book ... so I good thing. My neighbors dinner got canned tonight, so on my own. Making Reubens. I think I can manage the rolling chair in the kitchen and standing to grill one. Chips and a pickle. All american sandwich!
I'm actually walking much better and it really feels better ... but I am still getting it checked. I still think it is broken.
Vodka on hand ... ice and kitties giving me lots of love ... Not too bad!
