I have often dreamed what if I won the lottery. I don't think I ever thought of it in terms of eating! I always said I would give each of my children, an amount of cash and buy them a house or pay off the one they have. Just to make sure I never had to worry about them. I would give money to my siblings. Take my mom on a trip around the world. I would quit my job, but then probably start my own business. Probably a restaurant....Remember this is dreaming! ;) Maybe my food thing would be to taste the foods of each country that I took my mom too....Not expensive restaurants either, just local eateries to really taste the culture of each country.

Edited to add: OH yeah, I wouldn't forget about the local foodbanks.

I agree, Dissie, there are a lot of philanthropic and family things I'd do, too. But, I was looking at this purely from the perspective of what was presented in the topic, considering all those luscious looking and sounding foods. I would never neglect my resposibilities to mankind. But, like I said, I'd sure do some high eating at the same time. I guess that I was looking at things purely from what this website entices us to do.....eat! :D

' Hear Hear Deepster _ I'm with you all the way! My response is in tune with these ridiculous priced dishes and what we would do to choose goumet food winning the Lottery along with other "good will" things is totally different

I must have very plebean tastes, because none of those dishes looks particularly attractive to me.

Well. . .maybe a slice of the pizza.

I can't totally disagree with you on this Chocolatl. However, as my previous posts have (I hope) kinda indicated that it's mostly the "spirit" of the thought, not specific recipes. I still say I'd do some "high off the hog" eatin'! The dishes presented are somewhat of a prelude to where my thinking actully led me (fantasy perhaps). My palate and fantasy would surely lead me off into some culinary directions that perhaps I haven't traveled before. I'm quite a culinary adventurist! I've never met a new dish I wouldn't try before heralding or condemning it 8-) .

I'm not condemning them. They just don't appeal to me.

I think you totally missed my "intent", Chocolatl. Please, re-read my post. I'm in agreement with you! It certainly isn't that I'd chose those recipes in the instance of a "windfall". Thanks for your input, though, it was what initiated my response :P I'd be more likely to let my "whimsy" thrust me forward.
