Its easier and faster to buy prepackaged items, but buying basics and preparing yourself is cheaper in the long run. Buying spices is expensive, but with those spices you can save money. Make your own marinades, taco seasoning, chili seasonings, etc...So many great recipes for those types of things, right here on Zazz. SOOO much cheaper and better for you without all those fillers and preservatives packaged stuff comes with.

Yep, I probably spend $150 per week for the three of us. A pound of ground round is 4.99 here and one pound will not fill up those boys. If I make burgers, I have to buy a 2 pound package so they can have two each. It's almost impossible to make a meal for 3 people under $10. Produce is high, meat is high. We drink a TON of coffee, that costs me. LOL.
