What is your favorite?

Post by Dissie » Thu Mar 15, 2012 5:30 pm

What is your favorite meal? Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner? And what is that favorite meal?

I never used to eat breakfast but my doctor prescribed drugs that had to be taken after eating and I was to take in the AM. So I had to start eating it.
Now I think its my favorite meal of the day. I usually make a low carb breakfast. I find the protein helps me feel fuller until lunch. My normal breakfast? Scrambled eggs with whatever veggies we have in the fridge or a vegetable omelet. I do add ham and cheese to both most days, or really whatever lunch meat type of thing we have in the meat drawer. I have been known to even use pepperoni. I always top my eggs with hot sauce or salsa. My favorite breakfast would have to be sausage gravy and biscuits, but since that isn't low carb, I rarely get to indulge! :P

I love Biscuits and Gravy. I also love a chicken fried steak and eggs, hash-browns with "white toast" and side of bacon. Scary isn't it! :D

Cillia you just hit on my two most favorite breakfasts. Are you from the south? I'm from Texas and that's just what people eat there.

I'm from Seattle and I'd run around nekkid for either of those breakfasts! I visited the South once, and apparently I was quite the belle in a past life because I love the food. I do realize that eating that kind of stuff doesn't add anything positive to running around nekkid, but oh well.

Here in Seattle we eat granola and watch it rain. While wearing Birkenstocks with socks.

I'd rather skip any meal and head straight towards dessert BUT...
Brekkie is my fav, and my fav Brekkie Meal...Eggs Benedict. Hubby makes the most wonderful Eggs Benedict I have ever had! My second fav, French Toast, crispy, with cinnamon, some sliced straberries and whipped cream!

I love my Sunday Brunch - lovely omelet of some kind but then I love my Saturday night burger too an I would never say no to a lovely planned, prepared roast lamb dinner Mmmm.
And I love appetizers. Oh Heck I love ALL meals and almost all food!

I may cook a lot - but I actually eat very little.

I like breakfast, but since I am up usually by 6 or earlier, I eat cottage cheese, yogurt or fruit.

I rarely eat lunch. Maybe a 1/2 of tuna sandwich, or a small portion of my leftovers or a cup of soup. But very little if anything. Sometimes, just cheese and crackers.

Dinner is late usually, but never the same time; depends on work.

Favorite:

I would have to say brunch. But that really rarely happens. Maybe Sunday and not too often.

I love to sit down to a spicy Bloody Mary; Omlette with smoked salmon and asparagus is my favorite, or a veggie with onions, peppers, and mushrooms; baby reds pan sauteed with bacon and onions; and fresh melon or mango.
That would be my favorite.

Second, is dinner. BBQ ribs with fresh corn on the cob and potato salad (my version)
---------------------------------------

Those are my two favorites.

I should clarify ... That is if I cook at home.

If I went out. 7am
I would go to this little hole in the wall a couple of miles a way. They have a 3.99 brekkie which is great. Eggs, toast, hashbrowns, coffee, juice and sausage. Delish.

Finish it with a walk on the beach and a bloody mary to start the Sunday am.
Head to Myakka State Park to kayak for a few hours ...

Then about 7pm
I would hit the oyster bar for a bowl of clam chowder and a pot of broasted oysters and a side of coleslaw. Maybe split a couple dozen steamed shrimp or clams.

That would be the perfect day for me.
Fun and Food. But I think they go hand in hand.

If I spent the day at home, my food choices would be much different.

So ... NO, I honestly don't have a FAVE, but I gave you my faves at certain times.

Brekkie! Eggs Benedict and the aforementioned chicken fried steak meal run pretty close with Eggs Benedict winning by a good sauce.

I am also a brunch girl. I am not a huge breakfast fan during the week, but it isn't because I don't enjoy typical breakfast foods. I just don't feel terribly hungry early in the morning.

Brunch I love because it is at the perfect time of day and I can eat a combo of different things.
