Quick question about cooking
Post
by Tigger » Thu Oct 05, 2017 6:30 pm
I am making chicken chili and used some diced jalapenos out of the can. Unfortunately, my hand was a bit heavy so it's very spicy now. How can I tame it down? What should I add to calm down the heat

Try serving it with sour cream, stir in a bit in your bowl of chili. Also serve it with a bun, the bread tones down the heat in your mouth.

I don't have any sour cream or bread. Any other thoughts?

If it was me I would make another batch without heat and mix the two together. Freeze some for later use ;)

I love making chili but in our family (besides me) spice does not go over well.
so when I am adventurous and make our chili a little too hot, I add maple syrup and cinnamon. Keep adding to fit your tastes and to point when chili is not too spicy.
Works every time!!! Unless heat is wayyyy to much
