My New Toy
Post

Not a food photo but hopefully will be creating a lot in time -
Want to show off my new toy which was a bargain, recommended retail value $2099 and we got it for $1200 after 3 hours of running around different shops and only 3 actually had one and the store we bought it off had it down for $1595 and I would have received a $80 credit to spend in store as I am VIP member but as it was the only one left in store (display model) they let us have it for $1200 - I was one very elated vegemite. As soon as the DH gets back from the doctors we will be making a chocolate cake and oh not only does it mix but you can cook in the bowl too and it has a food processor and blender jug included and so many hooks (dough, whisk, blend etc.) and heaps of blades for the processor and a really good cook book came with it to.

WOW that machine

and it even has an element for cooking

I could never spend 2000.00 on an electric mixer, you sure got a great deal, I can see why it's so expensive. I would have a lot of fun with that machine. Enjoy it!

It would be best to compare it with a thermomix which well here for over $3000 though there have been issues with them here in Australia and there are several litigation cases in the pipeline for people have had the thermomix blow up on them and with a few been badly burnt as they were cooking in them. I was originally looking at a Kitchen Aide and the basic model sells for $700 here in Australia but when I read the reviews of them in Australia I decided against it as people had been having a lot of trouble getting them repaired even under warranty and also the machine was supposed to be able to let you make up to 3 loaves of bread and most people were saying they were struggling to make 1. So I looked at the Sunbeam Planatary range and Kenwood and that was when we came across this model. The reason for getting a new mixer was my present one and in 39 years I have had 3 stand mixers and they have all been Sunbeam pro's with the last one costing $600 8 years ago but both mixing beaters bent on me making it useless and it was going to cost $100 to replace them and a new one of the same type sells for under $200 and though I loved my first 2 that I had I have never been happy with the present one so I was more than happy to replace it with something different and Kenwood have a good reputation and as said earlier it was to good a bargain to pass up.

First of all I have to get my license to drive it

, just spent an hour and half going through to book trying to identify everything and what it does and my head is spinning so thinking will pick something from the cook book and make that and work from there.

I watched a video from utube on it making risotto. Very cool. No stirring, that is worth it. Love that is an induction baker. Freaking awesome machine.
