Kim, if you would share your method/recipe for the Apple/Celery Soup, I would like to try that for FIL.

Tonight's Dinner has changed, as FIL throat is bothering him. I made a big batch of Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup, and will be posting my recipe for it.
I also made Homemade Applesauce, and Banana Bread for him.

Here you go, it is a easy and a bit healthy even though it has butter in it, not too bad overall.

Enjoy

I really didn't plan anything again this week. Just went to the store and the pantry is well stocked, so again, it will be pretty much whatever I'm in the mood for. I have a lot of meat and produce and lots of salad fixin's. I'm pretty sure tonight is taco stew and then probably chicken with mushrooms and a pasta side tomorrow night, pork tenderloin Wed night and on and on.... :D

It's really hard to get in the habit with this new website! This is from memory so I am probably wrong on some of this lol.

I do mine Saturday-Sunday

Saturday:
meatball sandwiches with homemade marinara on outdoor rolls

Sunday:
tacoritos
corn in butter sauce

Monday:
leftovers from last 2 nights

Tuesday:
chicken noodle soup

Wednesday:
kielbasa and potatoes

Thursday:
peppered pork sandwiches

Friday:
I can't remember!

So far only some luck with my menu - I didn't get to make the chicken on Sunday after all. I went to the store and was so tired when I got home, I just ate leftovers. Then last night (Halloween meal) I only ended up making the soup and pumpkin bread. ANd wouldn't you know it - I had issues.

First I had to run back to the grocery store because one of the deli meats I had bought was not only cut very wrong, it had an off color and taste. I got my money back but while I was there, forgot again to get the ingredients for blood orange salad. I got home, was making the soup, realized one of the bags of carrots I had just bought the day before - had expired several days before I bought them. I was very annoyed and in the middle of cooking, so I just threw them out. They had been buy one get one free or I'd have kept them to take to the same store again. So I just cut the recipe in half - I thought it was very good, although not as good as another carrot soup I make. DD didn't like hers, even though she loves carrots.

Now for my pumpkin bread - I have 2 recipes I liked - one I make all the time that I love love love. The other is a recipe a former gave me after she brought some as a gift one year. I had never made the recipe and decided it was time I did. Well, the bread was fine (although once again, I prefer the one I usually make now), but the brand new package of nuts - from another market - were rancid. They didn't appear to be rancid, and I wasn't expecting a recent purchase to have spoiled. Turns out the nuts had expired last December! Why were they still on the shelf?

I am so irritated. The meat and the carrots had been from the organic/gourmet grocery that I usually love and now I not sure I love anymore. The nuts came from Target. I may just go back to Publix only from now on. /grumbles
