Springtime Frittata?

I found some nice looking asparagus from Peru in the store...couldn't resist the springtime treat even though winter is just around the corner.

I made the frittata slightly different than Felix in that I used thyme instead of basil, I popped the frittata in a 325 degree oven for about 10 minutes to cook, and then I added the cheese (Italian Blend) and broiled until it was melted and bubbly.

And I used one more veggie than Felix - mushrooms. Asparagus & eggs is a perfect combo! :D

How lovely is that?!!? Makes you really want to eat some asparagus. To me, its just that too, a treat!

I had to laugh this summer, when dh was trying to explain to my mother, that he likes all veggies that I make except those green sticks. I was like, what? What green sticks? Huh? And we figured out he was talking about asparagus!  My mother and I had a great laugh as we both adore them! Green sticks? OMG, he is so funny sometimes!

Green Sticks I love,

Those are fantastic photos. The second shot is just gorgeous. But both are really good.

Thank you everyone for your comments :!:

Dissie, that description is so cute. It will probably "stick" in my mind from now on.

Very nice photos, thank you! I bet the mushrooms were a darn fine addition. Now I want to make it again, but your way. Unfortunately, asparagus from somewhere is "on sale" this week for $3.99/pound and I just can't make myself do it.

Thank you, Felix. It's a very good recipe! $3.99 asparagus would make me stop and give buying it a second thought, too. :(
