Elk Burger
Post

Delicious! I was lucky enough to spot a pound of ground Elk at a local grocery store Never having cooked elk before I called on my friend Bea for advice. She said it is very lean and tends to be dry so it's a good idea to add bacon. So I put together this recipe. Nice served with fried Onions, tomatoes, swiss cheese & BBQ Sauce. But you may choose your own favorite toppings. Of course you can BBQ the burgers."
The onions for this burger were made from KC's Crock Pot carmelized onions Mmm good
Burger recipe just posted - not up yet

Elk is delicious. I can't get it here. And thx for the onions. They look picture perfect.
That burger is decadently good! A good friend lives in CO and elk they can get every where. I would love that.
Lucky you; and, a great burger night! Thx again with the onions. I make double batches and freeze. I use them on pizza and sandwiches a lot.

It was just a fluke that I spotted it. They don't usually carry game. It was very expensive too $13.98 for the pound. I am not sorry that I bought it - It was so very good

There is a local butcher shop I can order it from; but, a 5lb minimum order. Now and then, they do get it; but, not often.
Yep, really good! They have started to carry bison all the time; also good.

All looks good! It is hard to get elk here unless you hunt it, it is protected here in PA.
