Adding a soup.....

I grew up with soup all the time, no matter what season (I'm not kidding, we had soup in summer). My mom was an AVID soup maker. And though a scoffed at times as a kid, I love soups and this one I know she would ADORE as much as we did!

It's also sitting on an old blanket (made from fabric scraps) from Portugal, it's almost 100 yrs old, if not more.

Every summer, at every gathering there was always Coleslaw & Potato Salad on table.
Everyone had their own recipe, and as a kid I would look for my Aunty Jeans Potato Salad because she used pea's in hers! I am sure my Mum probably used the same recipe ~ but Aunty Jean's Potato Salad always seemed the best whilst Mum's coleslaw was always the best, that is until times changed and it started coming in pre made containers and as a working Mum she found it easier to buy! I never ate it after that...lol
I only ever make it myself.

I used to love Tuna Cakes as a child (known to us as Patties not Cakes...lol).
Mum used to make them and roll them in flour and egg and then breadcrumb them, they were out of this world. DH and myself still love them every once in a while, although I do like to make them without the rolling in egg and breadcrumb effort. I have found a few recipes on Zaaz that is easier and we have really enjoyed the them. We enjoyed these a week or so ago!

I wasn't thinking of adding this one, but realized that incorporating strawberries, blueberries, etc. into salads, seemed to be a thing in the late 80's/90's and these type of plates were appearing everywhere at friends and family tables, especially for celebrations. I still I love it..
