QueenBea, that first photo is totally fabulous - potatoes are clearly crunchy and mushy in all the right proportions, looks like I might need to go to my kitchen right now and try this...!!!

By the way, what exactly is an actifry?!!! :oops:

An actifry is a newer small kitchen appliance that deep fries with hardly any oil. You can deep fry 2 pounds of potatoes with just 1 tablespoon of oil. And yes, they are just like deep fried.

Sounds like a great idea, but a quick search turns up the only place in US to buy is Amazon, which is OK, I buy a lot from them. But the customer reviews from the US have a much worse opinion of quality than those from other countries. I wonder if there is a difference in construction based on where you are?

Beautiful photos and the Actifry sure does a great job Maybe SAnta will bring me one They sure are a great appliance

Adventurer, I have not yet had a bad meal out of that actifry. Everything has turned out perfectly for me.
