Oh Lee...I am so sorry to hear about your knee and pain! I know when my husband had knee replacements...he was happy that he did it. He made sure that he did all the exercises everyday...and now walks perfectly. Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery and fabulous cruise!
Looking forward to see you back! ;)

Thanks so much for your concern and well wishes.
And as always I'll certainly enjoy the cruise.
After your DH had the surgery, how long was he in the
hospital ? Or did he come home the same day ?

He had both knees done (total replacements) and he was in the hospital for the first one...4 days. Second knee was 3 days. We are in Canada...so I don't know how this will compare to the States.
He did the exercises 3 times a day...until it hurt...and then he did it some more. So his recovery was quick. He did not have to go to physio for the full time...as he worked hard at home to become mobile as fast as possible.

Prayers are with you! My husband just had his other knee done (the first one done 2 years ago) and he is doing fine. You must do the exercises and listen to the doctor's but he has and everything has gone well. Take care!

Oh gosh Lee, sorry to hear that, I'm sure that must be plenty painful, you poor gal.
Take it easy on your cruise Lee you don't want to make that pain even worse, I've had 2 hips replaced (one on each hip) and with all my running now the one I had replaced when I was early 40's is starting to wear out now

, I know anything with bones is the worst.....
take care my friend and congrats on your retirement!!
If you can eat, you can make it!

Shapes, I think I mentioned somewhere else; both Mom and gramps had total knee replacements on both knees.
Gramps was older, Mom in her late 60's and then 70's. Both decent health which does help.
Both in 1-2 days is all. I think over night and released to the rehab the second day. They spend maybe 1 week or less there; then home and rehab either came to the house or they went to rehab.
Most important, follow directions and work your ass off at rehab. My Mom and Gramps both had good rehab people; and gave them exercises to do on their own.
Both Mom and Gramps were more than successful and had full use within a few months. I won't lie. IT TAKES time, work, and pain. But, they were both so glad they did it.
My gramps at 90 was back bike riding and fishing; and, the same with Mom. They both took supplements that were helpful; before and after as well.

Also, you will be missed; but health first.
I'm sure your so's retirement will be nice; and, I know you will enjoy your cruise.
Just take care of yourself.
