Why not consider the wee pies YOURS, racrgal? How I got started on using chopped pecans is that one year, all the whole pecan halves were sold out at the store, so I was forced to buy the pieces of pecans.

My guests whom I made it for raved about it and said "It's not as pretty but it's so much easier to eat!" I took no offense to their comment because I agreed 100% with their sentiments. Since then, whenever I've made a whole pie, I make a Maltese Cross of whole pecans dead-centre in the filling but then add the crushed pecans all around it. If someone has a hankering for those four whole pecans, I tell them to "Go for it!"

You've convinced me! The small pies will be MY pies complete with chopped pecans. ;) I've also considered making an almond pie because I LIKE almonds.

For some reason, I just don't see people fighting over who gets the whole pecans. Many of us may be buying pecan pieces this year. The price of pecan halves has gone crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, that's great news, racrgal. And you know those buggers will taste just as good with small pecans as whole ones!

This just in for anyone that LOVES pumpkin: Betty Crocker Pumpkin Desserts came to me in an email just seconds ago! I haven't had the chance to preview anything other than the photos but Lordy!, there are some tasty treats here for us all to try!

within 7 days from now! Gingersnap crust, you snagged me! Now the only thing I have to think about: storebought or homemade gingersnaps? (well, molasses crinkles, to be precise.)

Ever since I learned to make cheesecake, pie is a thing of the past. It is usually pumpkin cheesecake, but will be some kind of berry cheesecake this year.

You know, it seems like I have made that cheesecake - I did one that had a cookie crust, it was very good.

And I may very well go with a couple of pieces of something similar if they have that at Kroger. I love that they sell dessert by the slice! I can buy one slice and DH and I can split it

My giant Walmart sells things by the slice, too, Denise, which I always tap into. Yeah, it's not half as good as homemade but it sure does work, in a pinch. They have cakes, pies and cheesecake by the slice.

I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake but all my friend's are. I'll try making that triple layer cheesecake when I can invite people over to eat it; it would go to waste with my family.
