Philadelphia Cooking Cream

Post by Meggs03_77 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:08 pm

I purchased some of that Philadelphia cooking cream a while back and just noticed I only have a few days left to use it, it was pushed in the back of my fridge, I have no plans to use it anytime soon I was wondering if it may be frozen, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Just a guess, but I wouldn't think so. But I really don't know. It isn't bad, I tried it just because I had a coupon and descent. I wouldn't buy it, but it definitely turned out OK. I made a simple pasta dish with chicken, ham, broccoli, mushrooms and cheese. Pretty tasty and easy.

I looked online, and apparently several people have frozen it with great success. Some say to let it thaw and then microwave it to regain smoothness, others use it as-is once it's defrosted.

Thats good to know, I wouldn't of thought so. It isn't my favorite thing, IMO, but nice to have on hand

Wow! Thanks for your comment. I NEVER would have thought to freeze blocks of cream cheese. I can get it in packs of 6 large blocks at Sam's, but never did because I didn't think I could use it all fast enough. You've solved my problem!
