Re: :?: A Question
Sometimes we would do dogs on sticks, beans, in a pot; and corn wrapped in foil.
In our first house down here; we did do dogs with my son one night, he loved it. And corn wrapped in foil. But not enough room for anything else - too small. I did wrap bananas, and we stuffed them with marshmellows, chocolate and nuts. He thought it was a blast. But definitely not big enough for anything else.
I think it is a lost art; but, it is a great way to cook. Now my old house had a fire pit on the lanai; not the same thing, but, we did some awesome steaks and seafood on it. We built a small grate than went over that, and it was perfect to grill on.
Re: :?: A Question
We only have wood heat here...so when we light the first fall fire downstairs...I clean and get the cook stove up and running for the long winter. Just love that we don't need hydro during those months. And the heat from them is more comforting than forced air....(imho)! We are in the process of putting in a summer kitchen with the second wood cook stove...so hopefully I will have no need for my electric one.
I agree Shadows...it is a dying art!
