I need/want Yogurt making recipes
Post
by QueenBee » Tue Feb 07, 2012 12:15 pm
Help! Succumbing to my gadget & appliance addiction, I just purchased a Salton 1 Quart Yogurt Maker. Well, it is a lovely appliance but, alas, it comes without a recipe book. Before I go wandering aimlessly out there on the web I thought I would stop here for a little direction. Does anybody have a recipe posted that could get me started using my new toy? Or, do you have a recipe you could post..... I'm looking forward to seeing some great recipes.

I've been using the recipe which came with my yogurt maker but I don't like it well enough to share. Sort of got caught up in holiday cooking and forgot about making yogurt. Time to try again. Thanks for the motivation!

I found a couple of recipes and will experiment. I'll be sure to post if anything turns out. I hope you will too.

Isn't it Elsie who makes her own yogurt? I am trying to remember.....It makes my head hurt when I do that!

OMG I can't believe I remembered that correctly. Here's a link about her yogurt making!

Ugh but after looking at her recipe, she doesn't use a machine. Someone else makes it too, I keep thinking MaMere.

Yes, MaMere makes yogurt as well. I think she is still experimenting with a recipe. A quick search turned up this page. Interesting read. There is a recipe at the very bottom of the article.

I just put a new yogurt recipe in the machine. I'll let everyone know tomorrow if it is fit to eat.

Thank you everyone - viewing the photos of the yogurt makes me even more excited about getting to the store to buy ingredients and then home to use my new toy! I knew posting here would get results.

QueenBea, I bought the powdered yogurt starter at the health food store and won't do that again. Outrageous price! I should have read a bit more before that purchase.

Thanks for the excellent advice. I was going to stop at the health food store on my way home - now I only need the grocery store!
