Our annual memorial service at our little country church was well attended. Awesome to see so many gathered to commemorate and give tribute.
Travelling the farthest were members from Alberta - the oldest 96! A wonderful service and a great afternoon spent with family and friends gathered from near and far. As always a fabulous lunch enjoyed in the great outdoors - almost like the church picnics of old!
A call had me find we were serving loaves this year which had me scrambling to bake a couple on Sunday morning! Baked the Hungarian Coffee cake in a loaf pan, only to find bundt pans were acceptable! Dug through my old cookbooks and found another Poppy Seed Cake I haven't made for one long time and one that can be quickly made - must get that one posted so I never have to do that search again. Note of interest grandson said ... "there will be left overs, right?" He was disappointed to find the cake tin empty. With family travelling in I promised to add them to the desserts!

Have all my ingredients out for nightbaker's
