Easter 2023

Post by Gerry » Mon Mar 27, 2023 9:44 pm

Easter at our house sees us gather to celebrate Easter as our family has done generation after generation. Planing ahead assures the traditional Easter meals have the givens, the must haves and traditional dishes that are part of our Easter celebrations. This year we will also be celebrating daughter’s birthday on Easter Saturday. As always along with the givens I like to add a new to us dish or two and love the potluck surprises that are added to the holiday table.

Whether you are hosting a family gathering for Easter Dinner, a brunch or dinner for two or adding a make and take, having a plan in place makes for enjoying the holiday.

Come on in, share your special recipes, menus, savoury appetizers, mains, sides, spring salads and desserts.

Have a good sized turkey in the freezer ready to go, definitely enough for two meals, making the turkey for the Easter Saturday birthday, with plenty of dressing and gravy adding the extras to the Easter Sunday ham. Have to love that both turkey and ham make for great sandwiches on Easter Monday.

What are you making?

And basting with the savory baste for turkey and chicken I use for special occasions. Makes for a wonderful aroma that tantalizes, the turkey absolutely delicious. Perfect for the holiday table and special meals.

I always look forward to your holiday potluck posts Gerry..... As a matter of fact I was talking about this forum with members of the team today!!! You always remind us about the great recipes we have here.

Our family faves for Easter are usually the typical French Canadian traditional dishes...

I love seeing the family go to recipes people enjoy at holiday time, thank you for sharing Bea. Love your #recipe1442 which I first enjoyed back in 2012, always amazed how that pinch of cloves adds to the meatballs! Many the time I have looked at your #recipe452, will have to make that pie for one of our spring weekends - just because! :)

I can’t believe Easter is coming up so fast! Glad I came in here so I could see what you’re cooking… I guess I need to start thinking about what I’m cooking!

Son does the smoking these days so I have not invested in a new smoker. He did a double smoked ham for one of our gatherings, made for a great addition and was much enjoyed. I included your https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/doubl ... -ham-22422 in a previous Easter thread because it is that good Shadows.

Good to see you stop by NELady, admittedly finding Easter is just around the corner caught me by surprise as well. Hoping you will be back and share your family Easter favourites.
