That would be a great dish for a gathering like this!
Re: Potluck end of March
Mams, yes my SIL and I made some mexican type of eggrolls- We called them ......can't think of it!......MIght have to search the old stomping grounds. I know I posted a pic over there!

Sorry, I cut your post down, but I would love the warm ham dip. That sounds good. Thanks!Kchurchill5 wrote: I also have a warm ham dip that is served in a bread bowl. It is a fun presentation, and it served right in the bowl with extra crackers or veggies on the side. Kid and adult friendly. Easy to make ahead and it is served warm. But I wrap mine in a little foil so it stays warm. Works great at potlucks.
I have any of the recipes if you want them. I don't have them all posted here yet

Bea, cabbage rolls sound good. I am wondering about bruscetta though. Is it still good if it has to sit a bit.
Heather, the jello ideas sound like a great bonus dish to bring. Kids love jello and we have discussed the molds before, so you know I got jello molds!

I am loving the ideas! Thanks everyone! Keep em coming!

Re: Potluck end of March
It is just fresh veggies herbs and bread so it is fine to sit for a while. I have brought bruschetta to many summer potlucks and it does well. It is a lot of work though if you are making lots because of all the chopping.Dissie wrote:Mams thanks for the pineapple recipe. I have made one similar with bread, I bet the ritz would be great. GOing to have to try it out this weekend!

Re: Potluck end of March
Here you go, I will post as soon as I can, but I'm working some 50 hrs this week, so time is hard, it is easy though. I ordered a round pump loaf, but a square works too. I just asked my grocers bakery and they made it.
1 round loaf pumpernickel bread (you can use a sourdough, but I love the pump)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups white cheddar cheese (shredded), make sure it is white
1 1/2 cups sour cream
2⁄3 cup baked ham (pre-cooked and fine chopped. I just got a thick slice of ham from the deli)
1/2 cup scallions, fine diced (green and white parts)
1 small onion , diced fine
1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 can (4 oz) green chilies
1 jalapeno pepper (to taste, seeds and ribs remove and fine chopped. You can use more of less if you want)
1⁄8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Mix every thing together in a small bowl.
Cut the top off the bread and scoop out. Keep the bread and dice it up for dipping. Add the ham mix.
Wrap in foil and bake 350 for about 50-60 minutes, middle shelf on a baking sheet.
Serve with crackers, veggies and the diced up bread.
ENJOY!
