What WAS on Your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner 9/12-9/13
I took out a pre-brined chicken quarter out of the freezer; then, I'll bake or grill weather permitting. I also have turkey gravy and mashed potatoes in the freezer, which will be perfect. On the side, broccoli and cauliflower pan sauteed.
For Lady #1 and #3, homemade chipped beef (SOS) on fresh homemade bread; peas and lima beans w/pimentos and onions.

Tonight I made sloppy joes on homemade King's Hawaiian buns http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/kings- ... ycat-11954 (to make buns, follow recipe, but form into 6 buns, let rise 1 hour, then bake at 400°F for 20 minutes). And had fried potatoes with them.

Pizza and salad lolli was on the menu last week; but, I always love a good pizza.
Lovin, I don't make it often either; but, I do love it. I do make it with my own sauce; add some onion, and a little white wine. It is good. I always have stouffers 1 box in the freezer. It is that emergency comfort food; maybe 4x/yr.
Kings Hawaiian, I am a fan. Sounds good. I hate baking, I admit, I buy them; but, I bet they are awesome fresh made.
Me, gravy and spuds with chicken and cheesy spuds; not my normal dinner ... just feel like good comfort food.

2-4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
3 ribs of celery, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 quarts chicken stock
Kosher salt
Fresh cracked black pepper
12 ounces homestyle egg noodles
1 handful fresh parsley leaves, chopped
Instructions
Place all ingredients except egg noodles in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours, or low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove the lid and shred the chicken breasts in the bowl with two forks. Turn heat up to high, if cooking on low, and add the egg noodles.
Taste and season with more salt and pepper if needed. Cover and cook for another 30 minutes, or until noodles are done.
Top with chopped parsley.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
