What WAS on Your Plate & and WHAT'S for Dinner Tonight 7/3

HAPPY SUNDAY and FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND!!
So, plans for BBQ'S or fireworks this weekend?

I started my Gravlox Fri night to take to a party Mon; so far, it is looking good.

Tonight, I am making cake pops. Some white cake, some chocolate; with sprinkles, white coconut, crushed red hots; and, blue sweet tarts crushed. They look like this. Making them for 2 of the ladies I cook for to take tomorrow for a party.

Lady #3: Fresh grilled then chilled shrimp to start; http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/a-warm ... alad-22970; fruit berry salad

My Dinner: Mustard horseradish glazed grilled cornish hen (spatchcocked), if it rains, will have to be the oven; grilled asparagus w/lemon honey; buttered noodles or baked spud. Maybe I'll make a twice bake and freeze 1/2 for another night. Sort of up in the air. And, I have watermelon for dessert too.

KC, love cornish hen. Never made it spatchcocked though.
Tonight we had a garden salad (with greens and onions from our garden), thick-cut lamb chops, seared in a cast iron skillet and finished off in the oven, and baked parmesan topped zucchini slices. More peaches and berry crumble for dessert.

Dinner sounds good 59.
The pops were fun. My friend has a pan; but, you can find them all over.

I did some chocolate, some white. The ladies I made them for loved them. Really fun for a party. It's cake, but bite sized which is nice. And, you simply ice them lightly, then dip in whatever.
Nuts, candy, fruit, sprinkles, anything. Fun for a BBQ or potluck type of dinner. And great for kids; because NOT TOO much sugar, and smaller bites
