Sounds good.

I just had a store bought cheese pizza, jazzed up with fresh mushrooms, some minced chicken, jalapenos, onions, peppers, fresh mozz, and ... it was pretty darn good. It wasn't late but tired. Still making the soup tonight, but another errand; so, I'll make it later for tomorrow's dinner.

Been hectic today!

Morning Gang!

Nice weather here, 80; but, rain and colder tomorrow. Should be cooler the next week.

Busy day here. Catering a Xmas party w/a fellow caterer; and, her kids are helping. A Southern Xmas party, held in my clients barn (they own a farm); This is a barn they entertain it, the other one has the animals. It is all decked out, just for entertaining, pretty cool. We have it decorated with lights, pointsettias, picnic tables, white candles, hay bales, a tree, etc. Should be fun.

So this morning, finishing the cooking with my friend; she does a lot more catering than I do, and has warming ovens, etc - which makes it much easier. Dinner starts at 3ish.

Menu is:
To start:
- Crawfish boil
- Baked sausage balls w/bourbon glaze (their family recipe)
- Mini corn and ham cakes with a mustard sauce
- Cheese and crackers as always, a few veggies and dip to snack on
- Pimento cheese toast points
- Deviled eggs
Main Dish:
- Pork loin stuffed with collards and a spicy rub, slow roasted on the grill
- Fried chicken
- Beer steamed shrimp w/dips
Sides and Salad:
- Red beans and rice
- Green beans slow cooked with bacon, and potatoes
- Summer squash and okra casserole
- Upscale mac and cheese w/a mix of cheeses and egg and sour cream in the mix; and, a cracker crumb crust. Then, pressed and baked. Cut in squares to serve
- 7 layer salad (their request)
- Fresh fruit w/custard sauce
- Spicy jalapeno pan fried corn bread
Dessert:
- Buttermilk pie; pecan pie, and peach cobbler w/bourbon pecan ice cream; also vanilla ice cream for the kids
Tuxedo strawberries, those dipped in white and dark chocolate
- Plenty of beer, tea, and bourbon cocktails

Me and my friend who is helping is coming over after for dinner. We will have the turkey, mushroom, wild rice soup I made yesterday; or the leftover corn enchiladas. I also have salad stuff, cheese crackers, etc.

It will NOT stop snowing. Although rumour has it by the end of next week we're going to be up around 40F, it's gonna rain, and maybe six or so inches of it will melt. Of course then it'll plunge back down, turn to ice, and dump more snow on us. For now, though, we're at about a foot and counting.

Dinner tonight will be #recipe4701. I actually found Dreamfield's pasta on sale, so it was only $1 more than the regular price whole wheat pasta I normally buy, so I grabbed some. We'll see.

I like the Dreamfield's, Felix! Low-glycemic, so it's worth it to me and it tastes like white flour pasta.
Lunch today was my leftover Indian spice tomato soup with grilled onion nan bread. Very light. I still have some nan so I may make some koftas to put in it like shawarma or something for later. Not sure.

Kim, I also got my citron vodka done today. Don't know if you recall me mentioning I'd flavored some Absolut with Buddha's hand fruit. It aged one month.
I am letting Bill do the photo on the bottle since he is better at doing pics of glass than me since he started his beer blog. Then he will be doing cocktails with it.
It smells nice! I can't wait. 8)

I've heard good things about Dreamfield's, Sue, but it's so bloody expensive! Even on sale, it was $1 more than the whole wheat I normally buy. Regular price on it is usually almost $2 more per box. I can't afford that. :?

Morning!

I should know by now ... but there is nothing on TV at 4am. Thank god for Law & Order re-runs at 5am, lol. I couldn't sleep.

Sue, I think I remember that. Sounds wonderful. I would like to try that. I have done vanilla vodka before, and some other cordials; but, that is it. I bet the cocktails will be great!!

Felix, I agree with the dreamfield. It is costly, but I watch for the sales ... which aren't too often. They are pretty good however.

Dinner ... after a long day yesterday catering, me and my friend who helped got home and had a bowl of soup and salad. We finished off the corn enchiladas during the day for lunch.

Tonight, I'm prepping for another dinner party. Tomorrow, Lady #4 is having dinner for 10. I'll prep some tonight; but most will be cooked Monday.

Me, I really don't want to cook. I think more soup; and, maybe a grilled cheese on the side.
If I get really ambitious ... I have salmon in the freezer which I can defrost in a JIF, orzo, and broccoli which I planned for Monday's dinner. But either way - easy.
