Yep, just a creamy chocolate, strawberry or vanilla drink.
I figure on days where I don't eat a good breakfast; it's just a good way to get nutrients.

It may have a little sugar, or calories; but, the nutrients out way it for me at least. I have felt so much better drinking one every am.

After having Chinese last night, instead of my meatballs; I wanted something with some good nutrients this am.

Morning, back to my meatballs, sauce; and, rice stuffed Mediteranean pepper tonight.

Got side tracked and delayed yesterday.

That's it. Garden, laundry, football!! and dinner. Simple day here.
I did make beef broth in the crock over night. Just put in mason jars; and in the freezer as soon as it cools.

Not much cooking today.

Made chicken pot pie tonight. Just make your favorite filling ingredients, but when you roll out the pie crust, sprinkle some celery seed on top and roll them into the crust slightly so they don't fall off. Place on top of your individual bowls filled with the chicken filling; place on a large cookie sheet that has been lined with foil, and bake in preheated 400° F oven for 25-30 minutes. They will probably bubble over in the pan. And the filling will be VERY hot, so be careful when you dig in. YUM!

Love that idea. I bet it tastes amazing. Love pot pies.

Morning all!
Well, some snow up north; but, a bit warmer, than the bitter cold everyone was having. Hope everyone is surviving the winter. A bit cloudy and rainy here.

Today, I have bread in the ABM; just whole wheat.
I also am going to make caramelized onions in the crock. I forgot and bought 2 bags of onions. I don't need 2. So, I'm make onions for the freezer. They are so easy. Just slice and cook.

They are perfect on dogs, burgers, in quesadillas, sandwiches; as a garnish on soup, or over grilled steak or chicken. So, easy to make and freeze.

Dinner ...
Lady #3: Tomato soup; grilled bacon and 2 cheese sandwiches (her request); lemon bars ... yes, I am actually baking :)

Me: Small pan of mac and cheese w/ham; peas and lima beans; maybe a small salad

The DH and I have just got back from a relaxing couple of days down south in a coastal town called Albany and we had a very relaxing couple of days though a little car trouble on the way down there and in 44C degree heat but by the time we got to Albany it was down to 22C and cloudy though no rain. Coming home it got up to the high 30's and the car air con was not working boy we went through a lot of water, thank goodness for the WAECO. Enjoyed some meals at a couple of nice restaurants and wished ourselves good luck for our Anniversary on Saturday, officially 34 years but we lived together for 3 years before we married. Had a friend come in to mind the DM and the DS for the 3 days and 2 nights. The DH has just left with the DS to take him to respite for the weekend and we will be having Chinese take-away for dinner. Tomorrow we will be going the airport to meet up with the ex SIL and her DD and her DD's husband for a few hours as they are on stopover before they catch their next flight and our DD will also be there to meet up with them. Tomorrow night we plan on having crayfish/lobster though still not sure as to how we will cook it.

Morning, I completely forgot to post. I thought I did.

ImPat, sounds like a nice time. 34 years+ ... congrats!! OOOO! Lobster or crayfish, both good. Let us know how you made it. Sounds delicious.

Yesterday, my meatloaf was stuffing; so, back in the freezer.
So, I had some of my meatballs, my 2x potato; and a salad. Kept it simple.

Today, I have been up since 3am with my 3 friends. We finished off cooking for our shelter donation today. Lots was prepped yesterday.

- 15 gallons sausage, ham, potato, and vegetable soup
- Rolls, fresh baked with either sesame seeds, garlic/pepper, cheese, or plain
- Iceberg wedges topped with a relish of tomato, onion, cucumber and Italian vinaigrette
- Angel food cake w/warm mixed berry compote and whipped topping

Ladies #1 and #2 - Card/Game Night: Beef stew; mixed greens with blue cheese vinaigrette; crusty bread

Me: I'm thinking turkey noodle soup from my freezer stash; fresh tomato sandwich w/basil mayo

Hi everyone, have been missing for a while in this forum.

We were going to have burgers tonight, but at the last minute decided to go out to eat. It was good, and a welcome change. I have 2 pounds of hamburger in the fridge now, probably doing it tomorrow, but it could turn into a casserole.

We needed buns and mustard, so hubby was heading to dollar general when I suggested to go out and do the burgers tomorrow, so thats what we did.

I have really gotten into a funk, just don't feel like cooking lately! Not sure how to pull myself out of it. I am working 3-11 shift again, opposite of dh's day schedule. None of the crockpot recipes I search for perk my interest. DH don't like "mushy" meals, and all sound like they would be mushy after being the crockpot. So I give up and he is eating badly! NOT GOOD since his heart attack....HELP!

Morning and Happy Sat!

ImP, I hope you had a nice time at dinner.
Dis, I think we all get in a funk now and then.
When I was married; my ex and I worked opposite hours, so dinner was a struggle. I often made a pan of stuffed shells, pork loin in the crock with scalloped potatoes, pepper steak w/rice, meatloaf w/2x baked potatoes, chicken stew, turkey tettrazzini, mac and cheese with pork chops, stuffed cabbage rolls; etc. I would make them up and eat my share for dinner with my son. I would always put one container in the fridge for dinner; and, another 1 in the freezer. For a night later on. Then, I usually had a salad or fresh veg in the fridge he could just reheat or have with the container of dinner. I always made enough for our dinner ... his dinner ... and one for the freezer. Everything froze well; so, on nights when I didn't cook, he could reheat something.
And, I know you love soup; so, a container of soup was always in the freezer. I also make up slices of garlic bread. Like the frozen TX toast; but homemade. Just 2 minutes under the broiler and done.
Back then, I also had small bags of salad made up too. Some for my lunch; but, some for his dinner.
That's my 2 cents Dis, hope maybe some of it helps.

Dinner ...
Me, it's 7 am, and already planning dinner ... well actually, a busy day; so, I might as well get going. No farmers market today, drizzling for a start; and, I have a lot of stuff to use up. I also hit the amish market this week for some fresh veggies and cucumbers for my pickles.
Dill pickles today; refrigerator method, so no canning. They are delicious. I think 3-4 jars. http://www.recipezazz.com/…/garlic-dill ... tor-pickle

My dinner, mojo (http://www.recipezazz.com/reci…/sarasot ... inade-9932) grilled chicken wings; salad w/onion, cucumber, mandarin oranges, almonds, an orange vinaigrette; and, foil pouch grilled green beans w/honey and citrus seasoning.
Rain is over soon; but cool, which means good grilling weather.
Fire pit, wine, a good friend stopping over, wings and a movie. Very low key!!
