Ellie, sometimes I start out with Chicken and ??? too. It eventually comes to me.
Dis, can never pass up on a reuben. It's sort of like that BLT with the summer tomatoes and homemade bread. Hard to pass up.

Whenever I travel I always eat reubens - I love those sandwiches but need to pace them out a bit.

Agreed! I just made corned beef a couple of weeks ago ... so, this was leftovers. About 1 every 2-3 months I make them; but, if out to lunch ... I will sneak one in too.

Morning ... or Afternoon!
Soup is always good in my menu.
Tonight, back to my chili. It is already made.
Mom had to do a mom/son help night last night. He needed some legal help with paperwork. So, of course I helped. We had wings ... which he picked up ... but, of course I had to pay for, lol.
Mom's duty!!

Sounds like you had a good dinner Kim with son. Soup was on my mind too. I made potato corn chowder. Such a great soup. It was 88 degrees yesterday! So hot, then today, well last night the wind came in from ND, and the rain and cold. It is no wonder people get sick this time of year! Last time I checked it was 33 degrees. Not freezing but pretty darn cold! Our soup was wonderful and warmed us up. DH rideshares with a person who lives a block away, and he was so happy when he came in tonight. The guys truck broke down, and they had to be towed, but waited an hour for the tow to get there. The wind was 30-50 mph and raining, just cold and nasty to say the least. No heat in the truck while they waited, so he was happy to see hot soup waiting on him!

I remember up north in N MI, hot one day, basically snow the next. Crazy. This time of year is always up and down isn't it.
Soup is always good. I bet DH was happy. No fun sitting out in the cold. They had to be freezing. I bet a nice hot bowl of soup was just the thing he needed.
On weekends where we spent our weekend at our second home; Mom always had soup on hand for lunch.
Your soup sounds delish!! Perfect comfort food.
