Have a wonderful night Nin, relax and enjoy the day. My neighbor went to the store yesterday and he said it was packed, he turned around and came home and borrowed stuff from me. NO way was he going back. Luckily I had extra tomatoes, onions and cat food.

Denise, with looking at all the wonderful links you posted. I missed "Pauline's" name. I will go hunting. I am sure I kept the e-mails from her over the years.
Today in the paper there was an article called "Playing It Safe In Mexico". A whole page with a map so I will also pass this along to the kids.Two place I have been & enjoyed very much are "Acapulco & Mazatlan" both on the "Avoid" list such a shame! Also on the "Avoid" list is "Veracruz" which I think is Galley's old hunting ground?

Definitely not Acapulco!! That has been that way for many years. As far as I know, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Playa...those are all fine. Tonight is Kitten's sausage balls, buffalo chicken dip and italian stuffed salad shells. Just nibbles and cocktails

I've got another hockey game tonight, an hour earlier than normal, so it's leftovers again. And then snacking in the booth during the game...we have a deal. I bring cookies for Christmas, and the guys bring crock pots full of stuff and sandwiches for New Year's. And then during the fireworks show over the ice after the game, our game director brings beer for us to each have a couple.

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Years Eve!
I had a great day at their BBQ party and then back for fireworks, a toast, well we had shots, and then the infamous ball. Made it a pretty early night - and back home safe and sound.
Today, I'm starting my spring cleaning. Up north it was always in the Spring, hence after a long cold winter. But in FL, I love to do it after the Christmas Holiday. I will be taking apart everything. Every drawer, closet, garage, boxes, you name it. So I will start that today, and later ... my New Years Day Dinner with my neighbor, and then my son who will pick up leftovers later.
- Turkey bone in breast, with a herb crust and a brandy gravy, sort of my own recipe based on 2 or 3 others
- A basic gravy, with the dripping, shallots, butter, broth, white wine and brandy
- Cornbread stuffing with the usual suspects, and pecans and dried cranberries
- Mashed spuds with sour cream, chives, etc
- The famous green bean casserole, with fresh green beans, but all the other standard ingredients
- No dessert, just a good bottle of wine
I was up too early this morning, so my spuds and stuffing are all done, just waiting to be reheated; my beans cleaned and the rest is a piece of cake.
Beautiful weather today ... 78 and mostly sunny becoming cloudy this evening. Chance of rain and cooler tomorrow, 65. Then at night the high 30's to low 40's and only 56 for a high on Tuesday. Get out the hat and cloves!! That is just down right bone chillin for us Floridians.

Denise, Acapulco in its safer days was a great place to go. Some of the best restaurants, I have ever eaten in. The entertainment was top notch & constant.
