Very good Felix!!!! The 1st thing I alway read is the front page of the newspaper for the weather. Today it said it will be a "bumbershoot". day. I thought to myself what does that mean & had to look it up, lol.

I remember it from the Paddinton Bear books when I was a kid! :D Lord knows why THAT little gem of information came to the forefront of my brain while at work today I had to be reminded how to tie a bowline, but whatever.

Felix, Paddinton Bear my goodness! I read a "lot" of books to Dd from the day I brought her home from the hospital I never read her Paddinton Bear nor did my Mother read me Paddinton Bear. I do not think I have ever purchased Paddinton Bear?????

Anyway moving along. I wish "you" to read "The Passage".

I love Paddington! I loved that he was always covered in orange marmalade, my favorite type of jelly.

I went with the chicken fried rice tonight after all, although it really was more of teriyaki chicken & rice dish - I didn't have many veggies that would work well in the rice, so I just mixed rice, the leftover chicken from a couple of nights ago, add some broccoli and then my seasonings (lemongrass, ginger, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, white pepper). Nice use of all of my leftover rice and chicken and everyone was happy with it.

Morning,

Still messing with this keyboard & mouse that had the white wine spilt on it.

Temp here is 57.7F & it feels warm outside not chilly. The newspaper arrives here around 4.15am & I always want to look at the weather report for the day which is on the front page. Yesterday the word "bumbershoot". was used. Today we will receive "a splash of rain". I am thinking that someone has been given the responsability to write the weather report & is trying to be creative, lol.

Plans for today. I have a friend who has been very sick for a few days. She saw the Doctor on Monday but is at home in bed now. I will go & get her the groceries she needs & make her something to eat. I am worried about her but she has seen the doctor.

Dinner I think will be breakfast for dinner.

Morning Everyone!

Busy morning. Still warm and dry here.

Catered Lunch ... is a catered breakfast today:
Breakfast burritos or maybe I should call them enchiladas - with egg, cheese and green chilies, topped with sauce and more cheese. Then baked .
Chorizo, onion and potato scramble
Mixed melon parfaits with a spicy mint dressing and toasted coconut

Ladies #1 and #2:
Crockpot Mexican Ragu over grilled polenta, jicama slaw and flan

Me:
Soup, something with beans or chick peas, pantry clean out
Leftover ham from the other night made into a ham salad sandwich

Hopefully I will get the Pesto Chicken with Farfalle made tonight. If not, it will be hamburgers. Ideally, I will get some hamburgers formed up anyway to freeze, and some meatballs made to toss in the freezer too. I am so happy that I finally have room in my freezer again to store some prepped foods for busy nights!

Also had a request for oatmeal spice cookies, so I might be making those too.

I'm having a frozen pizza. Worked 9am to 7pm today and I am BEAT! Thus why I chose to leave at 7:00 instead of staying until midnight when I was given the option. But I had a nice thing happen on the way home...Dan's sons were in the car when he picked me up, so I finally got to meet them. They're 20 and 18 (the younger one will be 19 in about a month), incredibly polite, and drop-dead gorgeous. And very obviously their father's sons.

Morning everyone,

Still working with this keyboard. I will fix this on the weekend. I have been cooking this morning. I have made a fritata (sp) & a crockpot chicken dish. Just starting a loaf of bread. I am sorry about my posts as this keyboard is a problem.

Went to see my friend yesterday & she is very sick & it has been 1 week today. So the food listed above I am taking to her. The thing is that she went to the doctor on Monday "plus" her daughter is a doctor.

Anyway yesterday was a lovely weather day here. Today it is only 41.4F. We are having Thanksgiving on Monday October 8th. Now if I remember the USA will not have Thanksgiving till November??????????? Why do we not celebrate Thanksgiving on the same day???????
