Basically, the sale flyer was very confusing/misleading and I ended up not buying the chicken I had specifically gone to the store for. I'll probably make the chicken tomorrow, since I have some in the freezer.

I did have something positive happen today though - got a nice surprise in my email. I had written a newspaper for some missing vintage recipes - they responded already and I have the recipes I wanted.
Will you share the vintage recipes? It was your lucky day!!!! :D

I plan to once I test them out - they were all cake recipes. If I had the ingredients for any of them, I'd probably get started tonight. They all sounded good.

Well salmon was thawed and ready to grill. But one of my neighbors who spends the summers up north came into town early. They spend the winter here. Well, they were grilling burgers and invited me over; a bit earlier than I like to eat; but, it was nice to see them.

Beer, burgers, steamed shrimp, slaw and baked beans. I wasn't very hungry, but it was good. 4:30 was just a bit early for dinner, even 5 is early for me. But, it was fun!!

Salmon tomorrow, luckily it was frozen, so it will be ok to cook tomorrow.

TGIF everyone,

Heather & Church thank you for the link but that is not the correct one. I saw a photo on the home page of Church's "Sarasota's Shrimps". For whatever reason I am unable to search for this recipe??????

HotPepper great to see you too!

Well no concrete was done yesterday due to the rain that arrived at noon. I am thinking today it will rain plus all weekend. So next week now.

I am going to start my chili this morning. With rain on Saturday this will be a good dish to serve for lunch.

Over looking at the Home Page & I see "Asian Shrimp and Pork Patties" by Church. Had to go through my stash for the "sweet" chili sauce which I have. I also notice in the recipe this sauce is one of Church's favorite. I must try this. Now all I have to do is go to the store for gr. pork which is always something I have no idea what to do with. Thanks Church as I look forward to serving this.

Morning Nin,

Here are all my shrimp recipes
http://www.recipezazz.com/my-recipes?title=shrimp
I'm not sure which one you want.

Sorry the pool didn't get done, we could sure use some rain; I know HF has got some, but I would love some, my poor plants.

TGIF indeed, just finished all the lunches this morning along with their happy hour snacks.

The Ladies had their card/game night yesterday, so I have the rest of the day off from cooking. Although, I have plenty of work to catch up on. Work around the house, and real work, lol.

Catered Lunch: Traditional gyros/souvlaki, more like gyros on flat pita bread, with filling of greens, red onion, tomato and the must needed tzatziki sauce. Served cold
Artichoke and fennel salad with a lemon dressing.

The Lunch Groups Happy Hour Food: Grilled Asian tuna sliders, wasabi dressing, and a tangy slaw. Served on Hawaiian rolls. Served chilled.

Me: Salmon, I didn't get to make last night. Salmon on a cedar plank with a simple brown sugar glaze; baby reds in a foil pouch with parsley; and a zucchini tomato casserole with cheese. Also on the grill

Hope everyone has a nice Friday!

Church, the amount of time I have spent on locating this recipe "shown on the Home Page". I look forward to the Search being fixed. Your link did nothing for me either & I tried two different computers.

So here is my hunt:

Sarasota's Shrimp, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Link: http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/saraso ... sage-gumbo

I can only think that the link to this recipe on the Home Page has a problem! I have now saved to hard drive.

Well the concrete guys cam at 6.30am & they have completeed their job. Looks overcast??? Rain????? They have taken the pool cover out of the shed so I am thinking they will be back late today?

Stupidest.Weather.Ever. this year. It has been at least 10 degrees below normal all week, sunny, and stupid windy. They keep saying it's going to rain, and it keeps not raining. My friend's visitation and funeral are tomorrow, but the 11 of us working the circus are doing three shows and can't go (something he would TOTALLY get, and be irked if we didn't do our best work because of him)...turns out of all of us, I come in at knowing him the least amount of time at 23 years, so this weekend pretty much is no fun for everyone. We're thinking of having a moment between shows for him.

Dinner tonight for me is going to be a couple of slices of pizza from the fabulous place next to the arena. Even the guys from New York say it's darn fine pizza.

We are having a roast chichen, not sure of the recipe I am going to use yet.

I spent 11 hours in nice weather splitting firewood with my brother yesterday.
We heat with wood.
