Cocktail party with my Catering Lunch guys; they had a dinner cruise, but I didn't go.
Sushi tonight, bottle of wine, jacuzzi, good friend; and dropped off lots of goodies for both Ladies as they get back from almost 3 weeks overseas tomorrow am.

Sushi was excellent; and my g/f treated. I am helping her cook her brothers 50th birthday dinner; so she treated me to dinner tonight. Totally delicious!

Morning,

Felix I thought the installation would be different. Well as Mom needs to read all info on the oven 1st you should tell her you will cook again when she is finished. That should move things along, lol.

Went out to dinner last noght for fish & chips on special. Aways to drive & I would not be in any rush again. I will say the coleslaw was the best I have ever eaten. I think it was due to the hot peppers in it.

Today the weather will be hot & humid. Drinks by the pool as it is my girlfriends birthday. Then from there I have no idea?

Morning Everyone!

Watching Issac, but so far ... nothing too exciting, but some of us could really use the rain; and some not so much. A good friend lives just 10 minutes east of me and she has had rain almost every day. Me, hardly any.

But the storm isn't here yet; so you never know.

Market this am; lots of goodies as always. Planned on Poker night; but due to the storm, it will have to wait. One of the guys has 2 properties, down in Naples. South of us and there have been tons of rain already (not part of the storm); and he needs to take care of a few things in case of the storm; one ... moving his boat in. So he and 2 of the poker guys are driving down to help out. Hence NO poker night.

Planned on crock pot tacos, but it makes a ton. Was going to have that tonight; and then tomorrow for leftovers; but ... I guess we will change that.

Beer can chicken; corn on the cob; and maybe baked beans. Very easy BBQ food.
And tomorrow, maybe the leftover chicken and make some potato salad mixed with some leftover grilled corn

I'm glad I stopped by here, making French Dip sandwiches with sharp white cheddar - but I need to get the roast out of the freezer!

Kim, you better keep a close eye on Isaac! Aren't you under a hurricane warning? I keep reading he could be a 2-3 when he hits the warm waters of the Gulf. Up to 20" of rain, tornadoes. Batten the hatches!

Maybe a high Cat #1. but nothing to worry about. Rain, a little wind; but I always watch just to make sure. I always have my hurricane box ready; and could leave in a heartbeat. But NO. take down the hanging plants, but otherwise; probably nothing. But I do keep an eye on it. But if we don't get a direct hit; it really isn't much other than rain. Tornados are a concern however and surge with water. I'm inland 10 miles so, I am somewhat safe. Actually, I have had NO rain, so I wouldn't mind some

Morning Church,

I would like a "crock pot tacos" recipe? No rush as my weekend menu is planned but maybe next weeked? That will be the long weekend & the last of the Summer for us. A lot of food will be required.

I went out at 6:30am to pick up some supplies to last me through the hurricane, if it hits. I couldn't afford some things (no generator for example), but I did grab a couple more flashlights that float, several jugs of water and iced tea, a few ready to eat canned goods I don't normally buy that can be eaten cold out of the can if necessary, although they are supposed to be heated first (Chef BoyRDee and soups and fruit cups etc).

Going to boil a bunch of eggs to have for egg salad sandwiches, also making some tuna salad, as well as chickpea salad. Those will get made as soon as the storm gets close enough and I can see if I really need to make them or not. I want some ready to eat items available that are cold and can go in the cooler if we lose power and have no way to cook and lose A/C.

So tonight I am now planning to make a chicken broccoli casserole instead of what I had originally planned - I want to use up my rotisserie chicken meat that was supposed to get frozen. Not much point in freezing it if I may lose power and have to deal with it that way. Probably will bake some muffins and things like that too so we have some easy breakfast foods.

We lose power in normal storms anyway and have had lots of flooding issues already this season. If Isaac heads anywhere near here, I expect to lose power at least. Hopefully it won't be for long.

I make my carnitas ... or basically shredded beef. It is easy and I use that for tacos. Everyone loves it and it is just easy. Crock pot and 5 ingredients; if you don't like beer, add broth

Then, I add all the stuff; tortillas; or even taco bowls. Sour cream, tomatoes or salsa, olives, avocado, lettuce. peppers, jalapenos, etc. Add anything you like to serve on the side
