Felix, I am so sorry. 80 for the week, holy s***.
And, I would be a bit peeved too. It's hard to say NO to family; and, I had a BIL, that did the same thing. It usually was convenient around his golf game. Forget out schedule.

I just used to grin and not say anything; but, wow I could of just screamed. My now ex thought it was great ... of course he wasn't the one who had to cook or change plans.

Hang in there. Families are never easy

Eighty hours a week would be something that I wouldn't allow myself to put in. Of course, if you're young and your body can take it, then sometimes it might be wise to salt away for the future.

I'm doing a salmon(leftovers), cheese and asparagus frittata. I might put bacon crumbles it. But, I'm also doing half of a baked sweet potato that I really like with butter, molasses or maple syrup and bacon crumbles....decisions, decisions :D :D

Sounds good Deepster. I had a bunch of bites at the Pumpkin fest, so soup is perfect tonight. It's all done, so just nuke and enjoy. Maybe cheese and crackers ... maybe not. Decisions, decisions :D :D :D

I had a grand and wonderful plan for dinner. And then my incredibly inconsiderate sister invited herself and her family over at 6pm so we can give her daughter presents. Why 6pm? It's convenient for their dinner reservations. Nevermind that we are then forced to eat dinner more than an hour later than normal, and that I cannot cook while they are here (it is considered rude to cook in front of people you have no intention of feeding). I.Am.Livid. My next day off is November 7.
When she arrived, you should have apologized but explained you had previous plans to meet someone somewhere and that if you had known earlier, you could have made arrangements.
Then go meet yourself at Starbucks and have a coffee until she is gone.

About the work schedule...I live the real-life version of "if it rains, it pours". In the summer I'm lucky to get any work at all, then we pick up dramatically come fall. But it's not like most people think, since we regularly do 10-18 hour days. It's just this time of year we do that 5-7 days a week instead of just one. However, if you average my hours out over the whole year, it only works out to about 30 a week. :)

I just got done eating a bowl of cereal. My sister and her family finally left about 7:30.

Felix, I understand exactly what you're saying. I think a lot of "industries" are that way anymore. Still, 80 hours a week is a PITA!! Everything in your life gets caught in the crossfire. You know it's that way, and you accept it. That is good ;) ;)

My sweet tater for dinner was particularly satisfying :D :D

Morning Gang!

Another cool morning, but definitely enjoying it. The Pumpkin fest was a blast yesterday; my friends kids LOVED it. Today, there is a Beer Fest in town; so, I'm gonna head over and spend some time sampling some of the different beers. and pick up a few too. A nice day for it.

Dinner ...
Lady #4's guest leaves Tues. I may cook something for her later in the week.

Me, I'm making sauerbraten, something I haven't made in a long time. German red cabbage, and spaetzle.
Sounded like a good Sunday dinner. And my g/f wants to make it for her fiance; so, she is coming over probably Wed for round II of the dinner, so she can give it a try.

My soup last night ... kudos to me. I seriously think it was the best soup I ever made. Now, I just have to figure out the recipe.

EDIT ... sauerbraten tomorrow. A few things going on outside; and my son is stopping by. It needs to cook a good 2 hrs; and just can't get in on by 5. So, something from the freezer; or more of my soup, which is fine.

Tomorrow will be easier.

Brats and kraut tonight here. The Packers are playing and it's the very least a Cheesehead can do. ;)
