Woke up early, couldn't get back to sleep yet, so here I am posting before the sun is up >.>

I forgot to take meat out last night to thaw in the fridge, so I am not sure what I will be making. I might check out today's sale flyer and pick up whichever meat is on sale and then make something with that. Hopefully chicken will be one sale - I had a vintage recipe to test out that I had originally planned to make calling for chicken breasts.

Morning,

It is cool here & we might get a "small" amount of rain. The pumps were removed last night prior to bed which made it quiet. Today is concrete day if there is no rain.

The kids went out for the last meal yesterday. I was unable to go because of the pool work. They brought me back chicken wings & nachos so I am set for the day. Plan on doing my grocery shopping around 6.30pm as this is the day & time of the week both flyer specials are available. Last week & the new week coming up Friday morning.

Planning on taking out pork chops to marinate & gr. beef for chili (in freezer) for the weekend. We are expecting a cool rainy weekend so these dishes will fit the weather.

Morning Heather we are both up early. I was trying to post over you when I hit "Submit". Have a good day!

Received an e-mail from Dd & she has arrived home safely at 1.56am.

Morning All,

HF, you are up early.
Nin, glad the pumps are gone, a chilly weekend; I would like a bit of Fall, but no luck here. Rain all around, but nothing yesterday. We had some the other day, but definitely not much compared to some areas.

I've been up since 5, but just got online. Making the lunches this am. And preparing the lamb meat for the souvlaki tomorrow. Making a very traditional version.

Busy day here; Dr appt as a follow up for my foot I broke, it is covered by insurance other than $20 office visit, so I'm curious on what the Xray shows. It's actually felt pretty good lately.

Catered Lunch: This is week 6, 2 more weeks to go
Today is chilled coconut shrimp over a bed of organic greens, grilled red peppers, pineapple, mango, papaya, red onion, toasted macadamia nuts, and a citrus vinaigrette

Lady #1 and #2: Car/Game Night Thurs instead of Fri this week
http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creamy ... -leek-soup; Chopped Salad - taking a Jamie Oliver recipe, and adding to it. He uses a mix of 3 greens, scallions, cucumber, and I'm adding some dittallini pasta, black olives, turkey, green beans, and Feta. The dressing is a light lemon vinaigrette.

Me: Salmon on a cedar plank, zucchini and tomato casserole, baby reds. All on the grill.

Church it is 53.1F here at 8.42am. Cold!!!!!!

I am thinking that your Fall weather in the south would be a lot warming?

I posted to you above requesting a link to a recipe. Have you read that post?

Woke up this morning and it turns out Rikk is still gone. Not that I thought he wasn't, but still. It's sunny, and cold, and I feel like crap (which could be a hangover, I won't lie). Luckily, tonight I go to work so I don't have to cook again until Monday (the circus is in town through the weekend). I'll be having leftover shrimp and crab au gratin. I made a double batch yesterday, because it seemed like the thing to do.

Hopefully Dave will actually get off work early - he's been working 70+ hours for the last month - the plan is to hit the Farmers market and wander around, then hit the Dispensary - local bar. It's all walking distance, so you never know, Captain Woody's, 9 Promenade, Corks....could be any of the above

Looks like we are having ramen tonight. I wrote about the fiasco with my chicken in the "Stretching Your Budget" forum. Basically, the sale flyer was very confusing/misleading and I ended up not buying the chicken I had specifically gone to the store for. I'll probably make the chicken tomorrow, since I have some in the freezer.

I did have something positive happen today though - got a nice surprise in my email. I had written a newspaper for some missing vintage recipes - they responded already and I have the recipes I wanted.

Hey Denise! Long time no see!!! Good to see you!
Sounds like a great evening! Hi Ninner! Good to see you too! :)
Felix that Crab Au Gratin sounds delicious!!! Yum!
Tonight we are having something easy. I am baking corn tortilla bowls and we are having Taco Bowls!!! With lots of spicy meat, lettuce, salsa, cheese and sour cream on top! Mmmmm....I am soooo hungry!!!
Kevin will have his when he gets in later... Me? I can't wait that long!!! I get really hungry around this time. My tummy can't wait til 9 o'clock or later.
For dessert I made chocolate apple cake with butter cream frosting! Kevin already had a sample earlier. Sure wish I could have some. Looked really good! ;)
Enjoy your dinners tonight!
