My goodness your market friend is late. First you thought 9am now 10.30am. This is why I like to go alone. By 11.am customers are near if not 10 people deep in places.

I have a friend that will not use onions or garlic when she cooks because she does not like them. I make a point of not eating at her house.

I was at a buffet at my Ukrainian friend. I sat by a women who picked apart her Dh's decisions on his plate. Now the man was "very" skinny & maybe he had not been well? She only allowed him to eat the veg that were steamed. No meat/bread/dessert. My friend always sets a buffet large enough for a 100 people & you really do need to watch what you eat prior to attending. The food is going to be phenomenal very much like going to an Ukrainian shower/wedding. Anyway I did ask about this man & wife. She said his diet is so limited plus runs 6 miles a day.

This restaurant specialises in Oysters so I may partake if they are deep fried. All ready thinking about the Maryland Crab Cakes with habanero tarter.

Being in a ranch with lots of mature trees helps here, I will see what tomorrow brings for the A/C?

Have a great weekend Church!

I waited till 11, she finally called.
Migraine. She can't function when she gets them. She just shuts down, has to has ice packs, compresses, and a eye blinds. She gets these all the time and claims to take meds but I don't think she does because they make her sick. I know migraines can be delibating; but she does nothing to try to help them.

OMG. Well, I give. I'm heading to a local stand and will get half of the stuff I need. She said she got a migraine because she didn't get enough sleep, only 7 hours. Welcome to the real world. She also doesn't work, has a maid and worth LOTS of $$. But, once she walks away from that a real nice girl ... she just can't get away from that life. It's a shame because she is so nice otherwise. And she won't see a doc for her migrains; takes a prescription 10 yrs old. She just wants to be babied by her personal assistant ... One of those too.

Missed the market and all the good stuff. Frustrating.
Well off to the local stand which at least has local stuff, just not the same price or fun and variety.

As you can imagine. NOT a happy camper. Maybe not patient enough, but I just don't get it.

OK, rant over guys. Sorry to hijack

Well that sucks to wait all those hours then not go. It is easier to just go by yourself I find. So many people who can't get themselves organized & be on time as agreed.

On my way to the Fine Food grocery store now.

We're kind of up in the air at this point...originally, we had planned to do a picnic dinner in the back yard, but my friend woke up ohmygod sick, so we're in limbo on dinner. I might just be making something for the kids, and if she feels up to it, some toast and tea for her.

Illness has been banished, so the picnic is back on! We're doing two different kinds of sausage on the grill (artichoke and garlic chicken and roasted garlic and gruyere cheese chicken), cheese quesedillas for the kids, deli salads (crunchy summer vegetable, bleu cheese potato, loaded baked potato), assorted fruits (sliced apricots, sliced apples, cherries, grapes, orange segments), and for dessert we bought some of those double-stack Oreos with the white and chocolate filling between three cookies.

Felix, glad you got your picnic in. Sounds good.

Nin, I hope you enjoyed your trip to the store. Report on what you thought.

Me ... Morning all. Up too late, couldn't sleep, then up early, then back asleep, then back up at 8. I guess that is a normal time for most - late for me.

Busy day in mi casa. Cleaning, laundry, yard work, etc, etc. Some data for work I need to finish and a trip to the craft store for a new picture frame. Otherwise ... just me and the kitties today.

Bread: In the ABM, just white

Soup: Later today Creamy and Healthy Potato Soup; one of my favorites and super healthy. Will make some to eat this week, dinner and lunch and freeze a couple of containers too.

Dinner:
http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/greek- ... Casserole
Baked tilapia in a tomato olive sauce. The sauce will be using canned diced tomatoes, black and green olives and onions. I will make 2 because one I will freeze. Just a quick reheat in the micro, cook up some rice or couscous and make it dinner another night.

Morning,

The Fine Food store was very nice & I could have spent a lot of $'s. I do love looking in grocery stores. I purchased several condiments, 2 loafs of bread & 3 cheeses. That took care of my budget.

Last nice was enjoyed. I had the Maryland crab cakes & really enjoyed the spicy sauce on the side. Main was grilled scallops in a salad.

Everyone wants to go to the Curry House for dinner. This is always a nice display of dishes as many items ordered served family style. This means I will have to grill Church's pork tenderloin today. I will not be taking the steaks out of the freezer at this point.

I have spent the morning in the garden putting more dirt in my beds & all plants that I purchased previously are now planted. Today will be very hot close to 100F. So I wanted to get the yard work done early.

Off to the grocery store as all are closed tomorrow which is Canada's Victoria Day. Next weekend should also be interesting as the USA has Monday off & many of my friends plan on taking the day off because it will be quiet with the USA on holiday.

I love cold salads to make ahead. It is fairly healthy too. Brown rice, veggies and a simple vinaigrette. BBQ food. I think you are a lot like me. With parties, we make ahead and put stuff in the fridge and try to enjoy the guests. But I love to try new things and enjoy new flavors. My friends are good to as they will try almost everything. But I love to use things in season too.

I ended up going to a local stand yesterday afternoon for produce. Great zucchini, eggplant and heirlooms. I guess I have to make something with the eggplant and freeze. Maybe a lasagna type of dish, eggplant parm, or similar.
