We had a huge storm just south of us; and about 10 minutes of heavy rain and done. I could see your area got way more than us.

It is back up to 92F with a heat index of 100F, and I've been working outside all day (O.A.R. at the gardens). We're having leftovers. Unless of course I really am nauseous and it's not just being hot, in which case I'm having bouillon and crackers.

Morning everyone,

Well after 5 weeks we received rain last night at 6pm. It was "major" flood with no hydro till 4am this morning. I am a lucky one as many still have no power. The temp today will be above 100F with humidity as high as 100%. The lawn steams due to the water sitting on the top of it.

Today is the start of the Canadian Open. My home/area is now closed down. Yesterday I thought I might me on CSI as I have never seen so much security/black SUV & they were the expensive ones! We are expecting 33,000 people today.

MasterCard called & said my card is corrupted. I hardly use it & they want to know if I had been to WalMart. Guess what? I had. So they are sending me a new one.

Dinner I am looking at making a pasta dish with chicken.

This is as exciting as it gets at my house (LOL).

Morning All!

Another sleepless in Sarasota here. Asleep at 1am, up at 4, up till 7; fell back asleep till 9:30. I guess it is better than nothing.

Need to deal with some financial issues today, so not looking forward to. Mostly, some bills/finances/and computer work. Will keep me busy most of the day.

Ladies #1 and #2:
Fish pouches using tilapia, topped with baby shrimp and bay scallops, white wine and fresh herbs (lemon basil, chives, and thyme); white rice with scallions and roasted lemon; sauteed zucchini and summer squash

Me:
Light today - Shrimp salad served in lettuce cups; fresh fruit; homemade wheat rolls

Nothing exciting today.

Geez, Ninner! You're just not being allowed to win at all, are you. :( I hope your weather straightens itself out soon!

Today, I could not be less inspired to make dinner. I'm actually off for a few days, but it's hot and humid (nothing like Ninner's house, we're only at 94F with a heat index of 104F, 50% humidity). Now I wish I hadn't done leftovers yesterday.

I do have a zucchini, and also some grapes. So I think I'll make a half-batch of http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creamy-grape-salad and I'm looking at a recipe from Allrecipes for the zucchini (which coincidentally I found copied word-for-word, including introduction, on F.com). Probably throw in some frozen vegetables of some kind to round it out.

Wow, I can't believe how hot it is all over the country. Y'all aren't much cooler than we are. Heat index is 107 now, humidity is actually not too bad at 62%. evenings are pretty good after the sun starts sinking behind the trees.

Tonight, geez. Was going to do burgers, battery is dead on my truck. Annoying!! So it will be a pesto chicken dish or blackened chicken sandwiches and baked fries. I'm out of meat, all I had in the fridge was chicken, ribs, brats and bacon. Ate the shrimp for an appie last night :D

I did an early drop at the ladies. Made the pouches up; the rice ahead of time as with the squash. They are cooking their own pouches tonight. But a no brainer. Just cook for 20 and done. And throw away the foil. The rest was done. I had to be somewhere at 5:30 (my son) so I asked and they didn't mind. (they are sweet hearts). Now, back home and hungry, NO brekkie or lunch today other than some fruit. STARVING!!

Decided on a Feta baked tomato vs fruit, with the rolls and shrimp salad.
Time to get to work ... after feeding kitties that is. Kitty Mutiny is a definite possibility otherwise :)

Morning All!

Crazy here. Fell asleep at 8:30, up at midnight. Then computer until 1:30, watched a show and then BOOM! Transformer. 3rd one is 5 days. NO power. DVR on laptop movie Jesse Stone (Tom Selleck, Thin Ice) then started another and, power on. Decided to try to sleep; and as soon as I fell asleep. BOOM again. power off, Beep Beep Beep with the smoke detectors and phone. Wide awake.

So, it is now 10 and Geeze. They have been working on this small station at the end of our complex, about 2 miles away, but it supplies our power. Not a power station, just a couple of poles. This happens every couple of weeks, and they did warn up. But WOW, it is getting old.

Well, today is at least early; but it looks like I have to work tonight. Will know in a few hours.

Dinner ...
Not sure. I planned a spinach potato casserole with grilled chicken; if work that will not happen.
But, I may grill the chicken anyways
Or, I may take hot dogs to work with baked beans and coleslaw for all of us
Or, I may eat early first around 4
Or ... I may actually take leftovers

So, honestly NO clue. I guess I will just wing it since I really won't know where I will be

I have enough stuff on hand, so I can really mix it up. Freezer, fridge and pantry stuff

Cloudy today, very hot, 89, but 99 heat index, 80 humidity. At least some of you are cooler than us. But it is summer here. Nothing unusual. Pretty typical. Hopefully some rain this pm, but who knows. You never know with FL

I don't know who sacrificed what to which gods, but it is currently only 84F with 42% humidity for a heat index of 84F!!! It even looks like there might be rain heading our way, although I've learned not to be too optimistic before it crosses Lake Michigan. I'm not going to question it, just accept our great good fortune. :D

Dinner tonight? Yeesh, I got nothin'. Maybe something with shrimp? Possibly http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/shrimp-pasta-primavera, depending on what whole wheat pasta I've got. I need to make room in the freezer; there's a ton of stuff on sale this week and tomorrow is grocery day.

Yuck! It's only 93 here with heat index of 107, but you really can't even breathe very well outside. Not sure what is up with that. Dew point, maybe? At any rate, tonight is skillet lasagna, salad and Shiraz.

Okay, dew point is 77. That will do it!
