I got a bottled marinade that was lower sodium, so I have chicken in it. Sesame ginger. I have no idea for sides, but thinking I should whip up a chinese sort of cole slaw.

Diane, I feel for you. California has been HIT the last few years. Last winter as I was buried under almost as much snow as they were short in the mountains, we were trying to figure a way to ship it west. I hope something changes for y'all soon! And I would gleefully give you a few inches of rain if I could...I'd even space them out so it didn't wash everything away, which is a courtesy Mother Nature does not seem interested in extending to us here.

Dissie reminded me I had steaks in the freezer, so I'm broiling a couple that have been marinating in #recipe12170 since last night.
What time should I be there? OMG that marinade is so awesome!
Thank you! It's one of my prouder accomplishments. And I've been known to sip some before pouring it over the steaks. I was thinking maybe instead of discarding it when I take the steaks out, I'd use it as part of the liquid for making rice.

I'd made refried beans from the crock pot into bean burritos with homemade wheat tortillas.
Monday will probably be either pork tenderloin or steak on top salad. Probably some other things if I have time.

Morning Everyone!
An interesting weekend; didn't get as much done as I wanted. I had a few unexpected things come up; but, trying to do some catching up today.
Today's Cooking ...
Ladies #1, #2, and #3:

Me: Meeting my boss and a new hire (working lunch). Probably Carrabbas or Olive Garden. I will get enough, so I can take some home for dinner too. My boss is very cool; so, we always enjoy lunch - and, I won't have to cook dinner either. Win Win!

I vote carrabbas!

Sounds like a good plan!
I just made meatballs out of ground turkey and pork. Added them to the crock pot with a bunch of other stuff from fridge condiments! Recipe never to be duplicated. Tastes pretty good. Oh and I sliced up a bell and onion with the concoction!

Why does she insist on eating every single day???

I have no inspiration, it's far too hot and humid to consider turning on a heat source in the kitchen (even the broiler for 10 minutes yesterday was a bit much), and I don't have any more fresh vegetables outside of a couple of carrots and some celery so making salads is out.
Wait! I have some cheesy chicken and spinach enchiladas in the freezer! HA! I'll do those, with some kind of microwave frozen vegetable and cottage cheese.

107 heat index yesterday. Hot, absolutely. I know what hot is trust me.
Dis, meatballs, sound good ... I love throw together meals.
Lunch was good - OG instead of Carrabbas. We all got an appie and dish; then shared. We always do that. I have leftovers for dinner later, possibly some soup for tomorrow too. I'm set.

Monday: recipe#4155 - lentil and chickpea soup (no celery so used celery salt instead of regular salt) with crescent rolls I took out of the freezer. Earlier today I made recipe#7671 - lemon squares which are also very good.
how do you link recipes here?
Another hot day - supposed to heat 100 today!

I'm not getting into a contest with how hot it is...I know lots of places are hotter than it is here. I'm just saying, especially without AC, that over 90% humidity for days with temperatures running 80-85 during the day and "cooling off" to 75-80 at night means I don't use heat to cook. ;)

It's absolutely goofy to link recipes here. You have to do #recipe and then the number. I don't know why. So yours would be #recipe 7671, which without the space becomes #recipe7671.
