We're sitting in the upper 80's with dew points around 75 (humidity 75% or better) with off and on thunderstorms predicted, so I am NOT cooking anything. I'll reheat the leftover chicken and pasta with scallion sauce, I'm making a broccoli and cauliflower salad from dLife.com, and there's cottage cheese.

Sounds good Felix. 92 today; 104 heat index, 80% humidity and equal dew. Very sticky today. Scattered storms later today like yesterday. I know what the heat is like. At least AC runs all day down here.

So far, I have got nothing done that is planned; and, pretty pissed as I broke a very precious serving bowl. So pretty pissed at myself; and just trying to clean stuff up. Maybe I will get more motivated later.

Our day started out so pretty, then all you know what broke loose. A few high wind, down pour storms rolled through. They didn't last long, but wow!

I got a recipe from f.crap and tried to make homemade hamburger buns. Don't know what I did wrong exactly, but reading reviews, a few others had my results. I don't feel so bad after reading those. They basically rose, but they rose outward, not upward. I had very large hockey pucks! They aren't soft, but not real hard either. I saved them, and am thinking of maybe filling with sandwich items this week. I mean they taste fine, just are ugly! I might have overworked the dough, which is why they didn't rise much the second time. Oh well. We had sloppy joes anyway. I fell asleep and woke up to dh making sloppy joes. He found some manwich in the cupboard and the ground beef. I was happy. I know, canned food and beef, with this heart diet, but hey, he did it! I ate it! I was planning ground turkey, and that is probably why he let me sleep!

Sunday.
Steak tacos from a WW cookbook with fruit salad.

I am looking for a good sparerib recipe for the 4th - doubt if any will be on the WW plan but one that is very good and reasonably low in calories/fat.

It's been in the mid 90s' and inching towards that 100 degree mark, but never quite makes it. Hoping for rain.

We've been at 95% humidity or better since midnight, and the peroidic rain just adds to it. I had the windows open last night until about 3am, and so far today it's actually not too bad in the house as long as I don't do anything but sit here with my sweet tea and the fan blowing directly on me. I am NOT complaining, however! After the neverending winter I will gladly sit here in a pool of perspiration all day long. ;)

Dissie reminded me I had steaks in the freezer, so I'm broiling a couple that have been marinating in #recipe12170 since last night. The broccoli-cauliflower salad kinda sucked, so I'm adding more things to it and serving it again, and we'll polish off the last of the coleslaw (which I totally cheated on and bought a bag of coleslaw shreds with some Marzetti's dressing).

I'm envious of the rain so many are reporting, as CA has had 3 years of drought. There is an upside - the weather has been incredible. So we're grilling Chicken Oreganata, http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/chicke ... nata-12916 tonight. Served with rotini & vegetable salad (no recipe - just cleaning out the fridge) Chicken and salad leftovers will make a nice lunch tomorrow.

Hi Diane, glad to see you here!

CA is dry, so sorry. Have quite a few friends out there going through the drought as well. Pretty bad situation. TX too. FL is hit or miss showers; so, one area can be under water - but another bone dry - Typical!

Chicken sounds good tonight - I'm out on the grill most nights if I can; so, anything grilled is good for me. I'm doing a clean out as well.

I'm alone; so, even though I cook for more than one; I have my freezer stash.

Hope to see you every day! Enjoy your dinner!!
