Felix, very sorry you feel that way. It is your decision; and, you will be missed. I hope whatever you end up doing 'online' or with other sites, makes you happy.

This might be the salmon I am making tonight vs grilled salmon.

OK, I hate this. I made this last week for a girlfriend and her husband for dinner. I didn't take a pic; but, this pic is from the first time I made it. I changed it a bit; and, I forgot to write down the amounts.
I am so mad at myself. The whole reason, was to perfect the recipe and get a pic, and I did neither. Well, they enjoyed it.

I simmered lemon zest, pernod, and heavy cream in a small pot with a garlic clove and grated shallot. I let it reduce until thick about 5 minutes. Then, baked the salmon seasoned with lemon pepper s/p. When the salmon was done, I added creamy horseradish, dill, parsley, thyme and basil to the cream; and poured it over the salmon. Cooked another couple of minutes and done. Poured any sauce over the salmon when serving.

That sounds quite good! I'm really frustrated with myself from falling away from menu planning lately. I've been doing much better about staying away from the drive-thru, but relying a lots on convienance foods on weeknights. I hope to maybe map out a plan during our fall break next week.

It is hard Misa. I try to use a mix of homemade; but, also some convenience too. It really does save $$; but, you do really need to make a plan.

And, don't worry, my plans change all the time too. Tonight, I ended up going out to dinner with my son, birthday! Originally he didn't want too - last minute he did. Salmon is tomorrow. Hopefully making that salmon again.

You'll get back on track; things get busy ... Try making a plan for Sat and Sun; and prep at least 1 meal for the week. That might help to get you started.

Exactly Kim, glad you got to go out to dinner with your son on his birthday!

My mom called around 1pm and invited us for chili and cornbread. It was delicious. She knows we eat way spicier than her, so we brought hot sauce and it didn't hurt her feelings one bit! She knows us! Plus I didn't have to cook or worry about trying to make dinner with a dr appt thrown into the mix! :D

Dis, cornbread and chili sounds delicious. I did the same with my parents. Mom always put a bottle of hot sauce or red pepper flakes on the table, :o

Because of health, Mom cooked low salt in most meals. But, Dad could eat salt, and Gramps loved pepper. So, the salt shaker was always in front of Dad's plate, Pepper for Gramps, and hot sauce for me.

Dinner was nice; so, all 3 ladies are out today. A nice break for me.
Back to my salmon tonight, cauliflower carrot celery saute; and, tomato salad w/arugula from the garden.

I want to make another batch of my whole wheat rolls today if I get the time. I make small batches and freeze them. Great to grab 1 for dinner when I want.

I am going with the chicken fried rice and egg rolls.

Kim your dinner sounds good.

Misa that happens to all of us. Sometimes we fall in a rut and turn to those frozen things, etc... When that happens to mie, I start looking at different recipes to get new ideas.

Felix, if you're reading this, just ignore anyone who gets on your last nerve.
Know there are people here who like you (me for one) and will be sad if you do not post.
I have found before that taking a break from a place helps me settle my thoughts about certain people and lets me move forward.
In my experience, I have found that it is unrealistic to expect that everyone will like me. I have my fans and then I have...those other people. And I don't really care what those other people think of me. It's none of my business, really. And since I don't value their good opinions, I don't g-a-s about their bad opinions either.
So take some time to lick your wounds. Then come back. Don't let the people who hurt you or try to intimidate you take over the world. This site doesn't belong to them. And as long as you can still post, the people who do own this site want you here.

Anyhoo, had ham and beans the other night. Last night a made a lubia sabz polo, which is a Persian pilaf made with green beans (lubia sabz) and ground lamb and spices. Tonight I am making country ribs in the crock with sauerkraut and potatoes and such.

Ham and beans sound good Sue. I have a nice picnic ham to use up; and, that may just be the answer. No idea what lubia sabz polo is, but sounds intriguing. Ribs and kraut ... send me a plate!

I know you guys are getting a bit cooler weather; and, that sounds like perfect inside weather food!
