Well, all ready to make my club sandwich and my g/f pulls up. She's a big fisherman, and yesterday she and some friends caught some amberjack. She called and asked for smoking directions, which I gave her. NOW, I love her dearly, but cook ... she doesn't do very well.

So, today she decided to smoke the amberjack and some of the mackerel they caught. Well, she brought some buy. OMG, it was delicious. She did a great job for her first smoking attempt!

We finished off the pickle dip; and I made a big salad from the garden ... And, of course a bottle of wine.

So much for the club sandwich. The ham and turkey will still be there tomorrow.

FYI, I'm still craving sushi!

Morning!

Back to the club sandwich tonight with sweet potato fries. Nothing too special.

Cooking for the Ladies today. Making a creamy lemon pasta with grilled chicken; and a Greek like salad.

Simmer heavy cream, white wine, lemon zest, garlic, shallots, and dill until thick and creamy. Then toss with angle hair pasta, fresh basil and lemon juice. Top with lemon pepper crusted chicken.

I was only supposed to work a couple of hours today. Ended up being almost four hours of stupidity during which I found out a good friend has a brain tumor and now I'm freezing and tired and hungry and worried and cross and not at all sure I won't burst into tears. I'm putting some of those frozen stuffed chicken breasts with breading in the oven, and microwaving some frozen vegetables. If the bag salad is still good we'll finish that off. And then I'm going to the bar where I will drink more than I should, but I'm in a taxi so it's OK. Usually I don't have Mondays like the rest of the world, but today can bite me.

Felix, so sorry. I lost a good friend last year to one, 1 year older than me. Scary thought. 2 months after his diagnosis. I can't imagine. Very sorry to hear. Go easy, try to relax a bit, and just take care of yourself.

I know you got storms last night; but, it looks like not too bad. I have a good friends who parents were in the path in IL. NO word. My friends live just south.

Well,I was trying to think positive, but thank you for sharing that he could die within two months. That helps a lot.

Felix, I didn't mean to be negative. I just meant we never know; and it is scary.

Morning,

Have workers on the roof, in the yard, and comcast in the street. Nuts. Luckily, just maintenance; and doesn't cost me anything; but, in and out of the garage, house, the cats are going nuts; and LOUD. They are using a jackhammer on the street.

Tonight ... http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/scallo ... hells-1338
Tonight, I will make these, minus the scallops - just shrimp and crab
On the side, creamy pan sauteed corn; and a salad with my garden greens

I'm trying to work ... like real work I get paid for. My door is open close open close, my room is being walked on and broken up with an AXE; and the jackhammer in the street.

Off to a massage. This has been going on since 8; and I've been up 24 hrs without sleep. DONE!! Later today, they will be in my living room. So much for getting work done or cooking my soup.

I guess that will on tomorrow menu!

Damn, Kc   I'm already a nut case, and I'm afraid all that activity would drive me right over the edge. I had an new metal roof put on 1 1/2 years ago, and just that two weeks totally wrecked me :( :( Eat well, and be as happy as possible. Tonight, I am having a simple ham biscuit, for tomorrow, I'll be in town, and will ABSOLUTELY gorge myself on sushi :D :D :D I've been planning this since Felix's pics.....Hmmm, Hmmmm 8-) 8-) Hope the massage helped!!!

Morning,

It was pretty loud Deepster. They finally fished by 5; but, back today to finish the roof; and comcast is back laying new lines in the street; but NO more jackhammer. And the yard guys are done tree trimming I hope.

ENJOY your sushi today.

Ladies #1 and #2: They are having a Classic cocktail party. Two couples are bringing a selection of desserts.
Me, I am making ...
3 cocktails - Side car, whiskey sour, and martini
Appies - Lobster stuffed mushrooms; spinach stuffed baby potatoes; tomatoes stuffed with ricotta and herbs, baked olives, rosemary cashews, bacon wrapped figs; and prosciutto wrapped melon.

Me: my leftover pork chop I'll chop up and heat up with an onion, and more of the gravy. Then serve over a baked spud. Probably another salad since my garden is going hog wild with lettuce. You'll be seeing lots of radishes too. They just started coming in.
