Tonight we are trying:
LindasBusyKitchen's #recipe7376
and leftovers from AngelicCook's #recipe5961
served with carrots as another side.

Shapes you are going to like that recipe for pork chops. Delicious.

We are having chili. Cold day, so it will hit the spot. It's not really cold, its 60°, but windy and cloudy, so it feels much colder.

Dis ... in my world. 60 IS COLD! Chili sounds good.
I cooked in the rain. But, at least a drizzle.
I could of cooked inside, but I love the smoky flavor.

It has been cooler here. NOT cool; just not 75 at night. A light breeze, and a bit cooler is nice. Still high 80's 90 during the day.

Forecast is to warm up. Glad about that. I just let the dogs in and it was darn cold. Windy as heck! Made it feel that much colder!

Our chili really hit the spot, I put it on to simmer, took a shower and when I got out it was done. Very delicious and don't mind me, if I do pat myself on the back! Family was excited and said chili sounded great for this colder day.

OH yeah, and chili was a great choice, because I got to use up those tomatoes that are sitting on my back like a big weight, whispering in my ear, don't let me go bad! I AM DELICIOUS, USE ME UP! I swear I hear that all the time coming from my fridge. All the veggies screaming to me to use me up! I have 4 eggplants whining too! lol

Yummy Dis!
Nothing better than a good pot of chili. Up in MI, even here in FL. Cold weather, Chili or beef stew are the first 2 things that come to mind. Mom made cornbread in the cast iron, no cheese; but always jalapenos. Then, she always used tons of beans in ours. Garnish had to be cheese, black olives for me and Mom, and lots of sour cream for all of us, lol.

Glad it is warming up a bit Dis, Wouldn't want the garden to get hit. And, it's too early for that cold frosty mornings. Oct, is OK, but it is still September.

My pork turned out good, although I had the potato from hell - took 1 1/2 hrs to bake in the oven, crazy. And cooking on the grill in the rain wasn't fun either. But; tasted good; and ... surprise; I have some for 1 more dinner.

Your dinner sounds good Kim. I have had potatoes like that, that just wont get soft until they are baked for a couple hours! wth? Maybe potatoes are like people, have different attitudes and some just take longer to cook the p_ss and vinegar out of them!

I have made soup and waited like an hour and half for the potatoes to get cooked, or the cabbage. Some veggies just refuse to cook in the normal time. I don't get it either!

It still didn't cook like my normal baked potato. So many times, I use the microwave and finish on the grill. But, since it was a 2x baked, I used the oven. CRAZY. But, I swear, it just didn't want to get soft.

It sure had one he** of an attitude, that's for sure.

We've already had frost two nights, and going for a third before it warms up again for one last hurrah. Not a killing frost just yet, but enough so it takes a couple of hours after sunrise to melt off the grass.

I ended up concentrating on the salad bar, fried chicken, and desserts. Golden Corral is always clean, but their food is...meh. Too processed, too commercial, too "I pulled a bag of this out of the freezer and dumped it in the deep fryer". Ya know? I will say, though, that it was a welcome surprise to find fried okra and hush puppies (frozen and then deep fried, but at least palatable), as well as sweet tea *without* nasty fake raspberry flavour (why does the North do that??). :)

Glad you had at least a good time Felix. Sometimes when I go with friends, their choice; I just keep quiet and try to make the best. Sounds like overall ... OK.

I used to hate Fall in MI. The pretty Fall days, warm days cool nights, the Fall leaves, etc. but it was always so up and down. HOT then COLD. No wonder everyone gets sick. I hated that. But a pretty Fall day is beautiful; and, that I do miss.
