Did you remember to ...?

Oh, I so hate this time of year. I do like it light early; and, I think dark at night is more festive for the holidays. But, I hate that I can't do my yard work past 6pm. That sucks, :( .
This morning was hard. I am usually up by 5:30. So, on time ... I was up, however, it was only 4:30. It's going to be a long day.

Cooler today 77ish, low humidity. AC again is off, love the cool breeze to sleep. Low key today, and football to watch as I'm in the kitchen.

I have a friend in town spending the night. In town for a seminar. She had to work late last night, she is in charge; so, I changed my plans for dinner. I ended up with a burger, and held off on the sauerbraten tonight. She wants to try it, so she can make it for her bf. After her seminar today, she'll stop over for dinner, before her flight leaves.
So ... sauerbraten, spaetzel, and red cabbage.

Also cooking for Lady #4 today. Only 2 meals, as she has some soup leftover from last week.
- No pasta zucchini, mushroom, and kale lasagna w/white sauce; tomato artichoke salad w/balsamic vinaigrette; garlic bread
- Eggplant parmesan over pasta; fresh green salad with a creamy Italian dressing

I already fixed breakfast; eggs bacon and toast. That will be probably be the extent of my cooking today since I got up so early this morning. :P DH will have something fast food out of the freezer for the rest of the meals. I made several things the other day to put in the freezer-- for "fast food" days/nights.

I feel like you. Although cottage cheese and peaches was breakfast at 6am.
I love fast food meals for the freezer.

My red cabbage is finishing up; and my spaetzel is done too. I will just reheat the spaetzel later. This is what happens when I wake up too early.

I did a burger rather late even for lunch. Tonight, it's simple fare....1/2 MWd sweet potato with molasses and butter, sautéed cabbage with a little bacon. I like this kinda "Fall fare" meal!

Love cabbage anything ... add bacon and even better. Sounds good.
I'm so hungry right now, but just getting ready to get my sauerbraten in the oven. 2 1/2 hrs to go.

I've just roasted some poblano chiles for a Chicken Corn Chili that I'm trying out tonight.
