Ended up making corn bread to go with the chili. Me and a friend ... A bottle of red, the fire pit; and a dip in the jacuzzi. My son and his friend stopped by later as well after b-ball, and hit the jacuzzi after scarfing down a couple of bowls of chili. A relaxing night and good laughs by all. Now that is a nice Sat night!

I didn't cook yesterday for lunch. My mother took me out to eat a walleye lunch. OMG it was so good. No french fries, the special was mashed or baby reds. I had baby reds with butter and parsley. Yummy. The veggie was carrots or coleslaw. Those who know me, know what I had... and garlic bread. It was so good. I ran into so many people I hadn't seen in about 30 years. We had so much fun. We met my moms best friend for lunch and those 2 ladies, know everyone. I swear it took us longer to get out of the restaurant, than it took for us to order and eat. But then again, I ran into a few people also! I had a good time.

I didn't cook anything today either! Sheesh! Well unless you call cooking a ready made fresh pizza cooking, That is what we had for lunch today, I felt bad when I came in tonight and saw DH had had a tv dinner for supper. oh well, makes him appreciate me more!

Dis - Walleye ... lucky you! I love it. I miss that from MI. Perch and Walleye were always my favorites. And of course you had slaw!
Glad you had a great time!

Elsie, I do enjoy breakfast out now and then. A g/f and me go to this little Cafe right on the beach. It is about 45 minutes up the coast, but it is such a pretty drive. We usually go early Sun am. Put it this way ... if you get there after 7 ... you will have over an hour wait. It has been around for years and well worth it. Good cafe/diner type of food. 5.99 gets you 2 eggs, home made hash browns, sausage or bacon, toast (fresh made); coffee, and juice. Also on the table is fresh orange and grape fruit slices; always. They have tons of items; but that is my fave. Sitting on the beach with a great breakfast.

And NO clean up Elsie, Kudos to DH. It may sound strange ... but I think going out for breakfast is sexier than dinner. I enjoy it.

Morning Everyone!

COLD COLD and COLD! Fireplace - again; and it never hit 62 yesterday. Today, even colder; and this am was 38; tonight colder ... Need to cover my veggies and the cats I am sure will be in front of the fireplace. I like cooler, but this is COLD.

Well, typical Sun here. Cooking for Lady #4, her 3 meals; and me ... crock pot today.

Lady #4:
1- Grilled swordfish kabobs lemon and squash; on the side, mushrooms and tomato skewers with a feta vinaigrette; jasmine scallion rice; lemon cake
2- Pork stew w/sweet potatoes, rutabagas, celery root, parsnips, bacon, and a rich beef/tomato broth; salad with a roasted garlic balsamic vinaigrette
3- Pulled chicken, in BBQ for tacos (a whole chicken cooked in beer, onions, and BBQ sauce); a spicy chipotle apple pear slaw; red peppers and onions, and chipotle sauce

Me: http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creamy ... rloin-4869; egg noodles, roasted broccoli and cauliflower

Enjoying the cooler weather while recovering from a knee injury (nothing very serious). BF did all the cooking today for lunch and breakfast, then we had delivery pizza for dinner to make things easier on all.

You and me both ... what did you do. I have no idea, but it is super sore. NOT swollen, but really sore. When I sleep, it hurts, just rolling over. Mine isn't serious either, but wow does it hurt. And, I have no idea what I did.

Kim that restaurant sounds great. Eating near the coast, seeing the ocean for some reason makes everything taste better! Especially if you are eating fresh fish!

Yes the walleye was wonderful. Its my personal favorite. But crappy's are so darn good too. I like perch also. and Sunny's  I love freshwater fish.

We had soft tacos. It was really good. I had a plethora of tortillas, so I had roasted red pepper flavor ones and the rest had plain tortillas. After we had eaten I had a V8 moment. I had fish, we should have had fish tacos! But I was running low on veg oil so what we had was still good!
