Morning Nin ... and Everyone

Happy Saturday! Tis the weekend finally
I'm guess I'm so used to getting up early during the week, no way I could sleep in. Internal alarm clock goes off a 4am it seems.

Today, farmers market at 7am I think; but, I have to check the fridge first. I may have enough for a few days, I bought a bunch last time, and picked up some during the week at the local market. Don't want to over buy.

Dinner ...
Over at a friends for a few hours to help cook or mostly advise. A newbie cook, and throwing a big party. So, I'm just there to help in case.

I made some shrimp salad this morning (that is what happens when you wake up at 4am) so, we can have on crackers and just snack all day, also a few veggies and a white bean dip.

For dinner tonight; a bowl of my leftover Spanish Bean Soup or some of my sausage and kraut from the other night. Plenty in the house to choose from.

It's Saturday? My brain is mush. :? Tonight I ended up eating a package of noodles (creamy garlic shells). Luckily, I got to opt out of work tonight after doing a shift this morning, so I came home and crashed but HARD for a few hours. Woke up stiff and starving and unsure of what day it is or who I am. I must say it's nice to have spent some time not wearing work boots, even though I'm back at it again tomorrow and won't have a day off until at least Wednesday.

Morning Everyone ~ Happy Sunday!

Where has the weekend gone? We did get a very unexpected shower yesterday after noon which was nice; dry today, but warm, still high 80's, but it will get down to 85 this week, which a sign of Fall coming.

Soup Day: Tomato for the freezer. My friend brought me a huge bag of mixed tomatoes (yellow, orange, grape, cherry, plum and beefsteak), so a big pot it is. I will make enough for he and his family, about 6 containers, and 6 for me. A somewhat different recipe - onion, leeks, garlic, red pepper flakes; carrots, celery, vegetable broth, sherry wine, fresh basil, and finished with a little heavy cream. But I will roast some of the tomatoes, and some not. then pureed until creamy.

Bread Day: White bread, nothing special with a salted garlic crust.

Dinner: Well, I had to move up my plans by a day. My neighbor gave me a large chicken breast which he defrosted and can't use it. So ... I think I will stuff it with cheese and wrap in bacon; then on to the grill. Salad with homemade thousand island that I need to finish or toss; and broccoli I think.

We had pizza last night. Making chicken tonight with squash, most likely Tarragon Chicken (low carb recipe) and either steamed yellow squash or maybe I will make a casserole with it. Needs to get used up.

I got to sleep for more than five hours at once!!! Tonight I don't have to go in until 8:30pm, so I'm doing beef stew with cheese-herb dumplings, which apparently I have not yet posted here (I will after dinner, since it's one of the ones I don't have pics for yet), along with my http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/guinness-bread. Should hold us for the next few days while I'm working.

Feel better Nin, still the 30th here, so this is where I'll post it. Take care of yourself, and rest up.

Hope you feel better Ninner.

We did a ton of yard work today. After that we were so exhausted, so I was not interested in cooking anything. Grabbed some food from California Tacos to Go, which is one of the places Guy Fieri stopped at on his show. Really good food - they make everything themselves, including the sauces. Nice fresh ingredients - yummy.
