Morning,

Another cold day here with rain expected. Maybe even freezing rain?

For dinner I am making mac & cheese with ham, a salad & homemade rolls. I will make it this morning & put it in the oven when the girls return.

Thanks Felix, sad house here with the girls.

Nin, I'm so sorry to hear. I'm sure the girls appreciate everything you are doing.

And thx, my ankle is pretty screwed up, especially over such a stupid fall. Damn cats! Next time, I will make sure to turn the light on

Trying to make things as easy as I can this week. Last night was salmon, rice and zucchini, but thx to foil pouches in the oven NO clean up except a plate and fork. I can handle that clean up.

I have a salisbury steak patty left (minus the gravy) in the freezer; I also have frozen corn, limas, green beans, pepper. I'm thinking maybe a mix of all those, a simple stir fry as a side to my patty, which is already cooked. Maybe just topped with a little cheese and some of my home made steak sauce (already made up in the fridge) - keep it simple.

It could change, but that seems pretty easy, 1 pan and quick to make, and paper plate to eat on is a must.

Ninner, my condolences, I missed this somehow as well.

I think tonight will be Lemon Thyme Crunch Chicken and mushroom orzo.

I'm so sorry, Ninner! It's nice the girls are staying with you a few days while they work on cleaning out the house and other things related to the death.

I've got to do wardrobe for the symphony tonight (it's a special performance with ballroom dancers), so I'm hoping for some smoked gouda chicken pasta from the place across the street. If that doesn't work out (I may have to be back to work earlier than they actually start serving dinner), then it'll end up being a chicken salad croissant with their homemade chips.

Sorry for your loss Ninner

kchurchhill, in January my mom's dog. Broke his lead late at night and my mom went out looking for him. She slipped and fell in the snow and broke her ankle in three places, needed surgery and all. She crawled through the snow on a bitter winter night  (she is 77) she had to go to a special rehab facility becuase she could not take care of herself. Now dealing with possible Alzheimer's.

Now I just rambled....this is the first time on here since then.

Anyway I hope your ankle feels better and it's nothing serious. take care of yourself! Don't do anything silly is my point.

Dinner tonight...I have some Italian sausage, going to see what kind of veggies I have I think I have peppers at least and sorta sauté it all up perhaps with a can of tomatoes.

Cheetos, my mother had alheimer's for quite a while before she passed. I was the one who lived there and kind of helped her out for over 2 years. If you need to chat, k-mail me. Maybe what I went through can help you in some way.

Morning All!

Thx CC, I got it looked at, so I am behaving as much as I can. Behave is not one of my favorite words :)

For dinner ... another easy broken ankle night.

Lasagna roll ups I made last week. A mix of the usuals; ricotta, parm and mozz. Sauteed spinach, garlic and onions; basic marinara sauce. I made 4 containers and froze them. Perfect for a night like this. Just nuke and enjoy.

On the side, romaine with a creamy parm dressing home made from a week ago with croutons. If I don't use the dressing, it has to be tossed, so perfect timing.

For Lady 1 and 2, I had to cook today, but don't have to drop it off. I made a beef burgundy (crock pot) and garlic sour cream mashed spuds. Spuds are cooking in one crock and I'll mash later, the burgundy in the other. And, I'm also making braised kale in the oven with garlic and onion. My friend is going to stop by and pick up everything and deliver it.

Morning Everyone,

I am making a frittata for lunch as the girls are meeting the lawyer for the reading of the Will this afternoon.

It is a nice day here so I will grill dinner. Pork chops & chicken thighs which I am marinating now. Baked potatoes, roasted green beans with mushrooms & caesar salad.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts. I feel very sorry for the girls as it is their Mother.

Church, I hope you feel better soon. A break is not good & will take however long it does. Tough being on your own & having to take care of everything. My positive thoughts are with you. I like you, am not big on pain killers but they do come in handy when enough is enough.
