Well, you all know what day it is ...

Are any of you making any Irish Favorites?

Ladies #1+3 and #3+4: Relish tray w/green deviled eggs, pickles, olives, cheese, crackers); CBC - http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/saraso ... bbage-4916 (corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions), w/creamy horseradish sauce and mustard butter; irish soda bread; Irish coffee, someone bringing dessert

Me: Well, I planned CBC; but, 2 of the 3 friends can't make it tonight ... So, we are just moving it to tomorrow. No big deal. I have fish or chicken, corn on the cob, salad stuff; and fruit - I won't go hungry.

Also, making a pot of soup today. I took my last ham bone out of the freezer, have some swiss chard in the garden to use up, canned tomatoes and some cannellini beans ... I think I can come up with something. I will go right in the freezer for later on. Great lunch or dinner.

Tonight it's baked tilapia, mashed turnips with bacon, butter, salt, pepper, finely chopped fresh thyme and rosemary, and cream cheese, and cottage cheese.
Never had turnips before, but tried them because my husband is to closely watch his potassium (I should say I have to watch his potassium) and can't have potatoes. I thought it was pretty good. He wasn't so thrilled.

lOVIN, Mashed parsnips are really good; Just a little butter, s/p, go light; or a Mrs Dash salt alternative - or whatever is on the diet plan.

Also, for one lady, her friend has to be careful. I will add a small potato; but, mostly cauliflower or a parsnips. A little horseradish, and mash. It's spicy, but not too heavy, the small (and I mean small); is just enough to add enough to the mash.
And, if no spud, mix the cauliflower with the parsnip!
